    Cat 7 motors

I never dropped a valve in my 3126,fortunately.But if you look at the owners manual for the 3126, it will show maintenance intervals in hours, not miles, including the expected longevity of the engine as well, which was somewhere around 250,000 miles once converted from the hours given in the...

Will an F250 Diesel super Duty with long bed work for expediting biz

Hello, the best of luck to you in your endeavors. As far as a pickup truck for expedited use, the only company that I know of that will take one is CTX out of Michigan.I have worked for some local expediting companies out of Cleveland, Ohio, that also use them as well. The guys there used to make...

Panther: an unconscionable and uncaring company

Greg, Back in the day freight most certainly was predictable.I would take any load going to L.A or the surrounding areas because I knew freight moved out of Ontario, CA, and I would load out of there almost everytime going to the southeast.Or I would take loads going to Laredo, then go to Eagle...

Is Anybody Getting Freight Around Fort Wayne?

If I am remerbering correctly, isn't Diamond Delivery based in Fort Wayne? May be that they have the area covered as well, just a thought. I have been at the house in service since Monday, but only had 2 load offers, which I accepted both, but we did not get them.C&M, Panther, Fed-Ex, Reliable...

Panther: an unconscionable and uncaring company

I understand what you are saying Dave KC and ****stader, but there are alot of times a carrier will not be up front with you about the good and bad areas. And I believe with the way the economy is, or has been, the typical good areas to go are no longer the good areas.Freight is so unpredictable...

Panther: an unconscionable and uncaring company

Kinda harsh words, but I understand your frustration.I strongly believe there are alot of companies that dont care about their owner-operators well being, then there are a few that do.The best experience with the ones who care about their owner-operators were from the smaller co's I have been...

    Help With Plywood Floor

I welded my 2 -8 ft sections of e-track to the floor, about 24 inches apart, so that I can still secure smaller freight down as well as full-size.I also welded 1 section to each side wall.My van came with metal studs that were welded to the floor and to the top corner inside, about every 18...

Yes, that is true..the sad part is this person is a great dispatcher, can find loads out of the desert. The other ones do fine, though.

    What are some solutions?

When I go to pick up a load I always request that the shipper give me 3 copies of the bill of lading. One for me, one for the consignee, one for the office.I have the consignee sign off on all 3.I staple my load information sheet with real-time p/u and del. times as well as all the correct info...

Those deductions will suck the life out of the pay per mile. The only way I can see where it is better to go with a big co. with all those deductions is in volume of freight. But then there are more trucks/vans to compete with.Although I do love the people I am leased to, our deductions are next...

    Cat 7 motors

let me correct my post there. I did have the valves adjusted every 40k.And used a gallon of Lucas with Mobil Delvac every 10k, along with all filters, and greased it every 5 k in-between. And always used fuel additive.Got a little anal, I guess.

    Cat 7 motors

If my memory serves me right, isn't a c-7 cat the same as a cat 3126? And, if so, I would stay away from them.I had one, and was one of the fortunate people who had good luck with it, and it is still running with over 800k on it, never opened up.The cat dealer back home in Richfield, Oh told me...

    Which would be safer?

I couldnt agree more. And especially with so many states being broke, they are looking for any little thing to write a citation on, no matter how small of a violation it is.Best to keep those trucks as near-perfect as possible, no matter how difficult it is with the way the business is.Or how...

    Driving a straight rig w/o a cdL?

How old is this thread? It reminds me of an ex-wife who would breing up an argument from 2 weeks ago.Your response to my post seems to be based on what you want to believe. The only proper answer I can give you is for you to call the proper authorities and ask them yourself these questions.Then...
