    I40 closed TN/NC Border

Just as long as carriers recognize this and pay for the extra miles and allow for the extra time taken for the detour.

    e350 van

    Raised roof van

I used to install raised roofs on new vans for the handicapped to accomodate the wheelchair lifts, etc.Had to do several body lifts as well. One company that comes to mind that I know of is MC Mobility on Tyler Blvd in Mentor,Ohio 44060. It is not really hard to do, and any mechanically-inclined...

need some feedback on ford vans

If it was available, and if they still made it,I'd get a E-350 with a 300 inline 6 cyl in it. That engine would pull a house off it's foundation. And last forever. There is alot of torque to these engines.

    SHock Absorber Maintenance

Most, not all, trucks with springs in the rear, not air bags have no shocks. My K-W T-300 and Topkick had springride with no shocks. The K-W did actually ride pretty decent.I change mine every 75,000 miles.I am thinking about putting Monroe severe service shocks on the van. Ryder put new shocks on...

What Type of Vehile Do You Drive For Expediting?

I totally agree with you, Greg.I had 2 trucks with the 8.3, one mechanical, the other electronic.I loved them to death, and that is the only engine I would get in another straight truck.I also had a 3126 cat, and to say it was an expensive engine to fix would be an understatement. The water pump...

when should you refuse a load?

Let's be serious here. I don't think they intent to do a gang -bang all night-out right screwing to us intentionally. Maybe it would just be better decribed as a loving, caring "not tonight, dear" kind of neglect. After all, I would like to think they would realize that without the...

Bravo To The Mom and Pop Companies

I have already been on both sides of the fence, doing this since 1989. And, yes, I prefer smaller co's as well. But when I talk to several drivers for the big co's, and they are running wide open, and I am sitting for four days at a time, then it begins to make one wonder about who they are leased...

when should you refuse a load?

I have not found a company that really cares about the driver yet, and I most likely never will. How many times I have heard and experienced the same story of how a driver took a load, unloaded, called dispatch, only to be told "we never get freight out of that area".So why get the load in the...

Bolt express is a freaking joke...ruining our business

As far as high pay per mile is concerned, most of my van loads pay close, if not over, $1.00 per mile.Sounds great, right? I had 1-280 mile load in the past week and a half, so does it sound so good now? No.So sometimes (I can't believe I am saying this, after preaching against this all these...
