It was on Sunday nite that Xiggi slept thru the pork chop and shrimp scampi dinner. Saturday had the opportunity to meet Xteam and shared a meal of chicken and ribs. :D
Turtle, thank you for so fully answering my question. What a great opportunity you had.
Your thoughts on adding Airtabs to the rear bumper make me think of TeamCaffee with theirs on the bottom of the liftgate.
Turtle, was this before or after you put the Airtabs on your Sprinter? You said it was at a college, was your Sprinter an assignment for a class? Would like to hear more about the experience. Please?
I wanted to do that before putting them on my hood, but since I can't see my hood when I'm driving (unless I use cruise and sit on 2 NYC phone books :p) I used the butterfly method. I drove through about 80 miles of butterflies in Texas one day. When I stopped to clean their remains off of my...
Well darn him, we've got to get him to post. He wanted them for the nose when he saw how well my bug deflector ones were working. Since you've talked to him, Jack, have they cut down on the bugs for him?
Look what I found on the Airtab website. Airtab™, Improve Stability, Reduce Spray, Save Fuel. Clear Airtabs, do you think they'll make those special ones I've been asking for with the purple led lights along the ridges? :p How about the chrome ones? :D
I have a 2005, T300, with the ISC 315 engine, 3.90 rearend, and Eaton Fuller 10 speed. Running at 60-61 mph, I'm at 1500 rpm and get 9.91 mpg. If I run 65 the rpm is at 1650 and mpg is down to 8.4. That's just not worth it.
As enthusiastic as I am about Airtabs, I would suggest checking with Contact Us: Airtab before putting them on your bug deflector. You'll find that they are very helpful and don't want you disappointed with your application of their product.
Chef, I ask the same questions over the qc. Imagine my surprise when I was talking to another straight truck driver and mentioned being in St. Louis last weekend (only one in 100 miles) to find out that he was also in the St. Louis area being told he was the only one in 100 miles. After...
I'm curious, what did you end up doing to get out of Amarillo? As a solo, I would have beat feet to El Paso, Friday night, hoping for a weekend load. ;)
After a week of running with the Airtabs on my hood I can't say that they've made a big difference as a bug deflector. Hopefully one of these days I'll be running with someone else so we can compare our bug collections when we stop. I must admit that I haven't needed to clean my windshield all...
I found the sunshades at Saginaw 'J' about a month ago for $2 each. I went crazy and cut them to fit each of my sleeper windows, fan opening, and cab windows. I hold them in place with velcro. I've retired the beach towels, but may pull them out again come winter for extra insulation.
I treat bikes passing me with the same courtesy I accord to trucks. By turning my lights off and back on they know that I see them. Occasionally they come back over sooner than I'm comfortable, so I need to back down.
Is there anything that I, as a driver, can do when being passed by a group...
