    CARB may loosen rules

We avoid truck stops for DOT's if at all possible. We almost always get them done when we are at home. That way, if we have a problem and they truck is down for a while we are home. We also try to get them at the same shop all the time.

It was 100 years ago today that the "White Hurricane" hit the Great Lakes. It was the worst storm on the Great Lakes ever recorded by man. It sunk 12 ships and killed 250 people. The "Gales of November" are often bad on the Lakes, it is bad out there today but nothing like it was 100 years ago...

    Question about 34 hr restart....

If you are caught you will likely be cited. They are not interested in the "spirit" of the law, they are interested in enforcing it as it states. Loaded trucks cannot be used for PC. With CSA points it is important to stay as legal as possible, to the letter.

    Lake Erie calls!

Today and tomorrow look like washouts on the Lake. Heavy West winds that are going to blow all night. There will be no water in the Marina. Good chance we won't get out until Monday. The "Gales of November" are here.

    Question about 34 hr restart....

I don't think that you would be able to do PC under OVM's scenario of doing a reset while loaded. If I remember correctly you cannot do PC while under load.

    Girl Scout cookies illegal

"One can say that about every government agency. And it'd be true." Pretty much. I see little reality coming out of most federal or state agencies, although state tends to be a little better. There is one part of the US Fish and Wildlife service that does a pretty fair job. That is the group...

    Lake Erie calls!

Well, just do it for one day and get over here. No wet dogs or muddy boots. We don't use dogs and there is no mud, except on the anchors when we pull them. As for the dead ducks, I use a 5 gallon plastic bucket to put them in.

    Avoid Deming, NM

Making the penalties high enough for first time offenders and we would likely see a rapid drop in the numbers of drunk/drugged drivers out there. Punishment must be fast and harsh to be effective. We could stand a "shortage" of those kinds of drivers.

    Girl Scout cookies illegal

Oh, I have done the research, a lot of it. What I find is very conflicting ideas. Some say one thing, others say another. My belief is that the vast majority of what we buy at the store is not of the quality that it should be. Far too much alteration is done and modern farming is not conducive...

    Lake Erie calls!

Dick sets and picks up his decoys in a very "special" way. He is VERY picky about it to the point of funny. I had been hunting with him for a couple of years before I was given the privilege of helping him with them. I now often set or bring in the blocks now. On this hunt, Bobby, Dick's son...

    Lake Erie calls!

We do most of the set up and tear down on these donated hunts. These people pay a lot of money ( I think this hunt went for $800 in the auction) to be out there with us so we make sure they have a good time. I did make the boy pull up the anchor of the "mother boat" when we were getting ready...

How Expediting has changed from 20 years ago.

What would those rates look like in today's money? Fuel was MUCH lower back then as well. We are seeing many offers at $1.31 per, with today's fuel cost and with today's money. Rate are MUCH lower today than they were today.

Roger that! I am with my great step niece for her birthday tomorrow, then out on Lake Erie on Sunday. Life should not be interfered with by work. Enjoy life while you have it. It is short. Monday comes soon enough.

    You can keep your plan

What it boils down too is whether or not they care about providing affordable health care, OR, controlling the people. I doubt the care at all what happens to anyone if they gain the power I believe that they covet. Only time will tell.

    You can keep your plan

We had co-pays that we paid straight out, but they counted towards the deductible. We too used the HSA to cover the co-pays and we also kept the $2500 in there in case of emergency. After the deductible was met it covered 100%. It was an affordable, usable plan. It suited our needs perfectly...

    You can keep your plan

Ours WAS a $2500 deductible that was tied to a HSA. It provided instant benefit. Money off DR visits, so many preventative care things, drug discounts. Also, all co-pays etc counted towards the deductible. All new plans we looked the co-pays etc don't count. Neither do drugs. To see benefit...
