Well we E1 finally called this morning with a load going to Las Vegas and then we are going to Ontario, California. The load delivers tomorrow morning so at least we will get something for this week. Once we get out of this awful part of the country, I'm never coming back again!

We have a nest egg, it's just not instantly reachable. Oh well, nothing to do but wait and see what happens.

*sigh* We can't move without the truck owner's permission because we don't have the funds to pay for the fuel ourselves at this time. We get paid today but we need to hold on to as much of that as possible to cover this past week where we had no miles. We had to miss a family event that had...

We are still sitting in Salt Lake City. We've been here for a week now, 1600 miles from home. :( Our truck owner won't move us, E1 says stay there, and it's been a full week with no miles and no income. I would give up this job and go home if I could but we can't afford to pay the fuel for a...

    Had a scary morning

What an awful thing to have happen. I just can't imagine how scary and stressful it must have been. I'm so glad that the boy is going to be ok and that the situation wasn't any worse than it was. I've learned, always trust your instincts. Always listen to that little voice that is nagging...

    Re: Medical Certificates

I think truck stops need to have some treadmills for drivers to use. A 30 min walk a few times a week is great exercise, but I'm not about to go out walking around the parking lot of a truck stop. I have no desire to become a grease spot on the pavement. It can be stressful just walking from...

    Border ban angers Mexico truckers....

I agree completely. A friend of ours that was picking up a load in Laredo told us about a Mexican flatbed that had pulled in to the same docks. The freight was strapped down with 2 worn freight straps and a bunch of clothesline rope. Now that really sounds safe doesn't it?

    What would you do ?

Drive through the pike pass lane and continue on my way. There would be no way I would put my life in danger by walking around a toll booth plaza trying to find an attendant.

We delivered in Evanston, WY this morning and are now in Salt Lake City, UT. Oh yippee. The consignee this morning was located at the end of a 24 mile long, 2 lane road to the middle of nowhere, most of which was unpaved. We had to share the road with numerous cows, which made for an amusing...

You can sue the other driver's insurance company. When my ex was hit head-on by a drunk driver (Nov, 1987), I contacted a lawyer and we sued both bars the guy had been drinking at for serving him after intoxication and the guy's insurance company (which just happened to be the same insurance...

    Texting Truck Drivers

When I'm driving, I refuse to talk on the phone (even hands-free) because it's too distracting for me. I'm not saying it's that way for everyone, but it is for me. When I'm in a lot of traffic, especially in a city, I turn off the radio. It drives me crazy to have all that background noise...
