A young kid can't even by spray paint, model glue etc.
I had to have my Mom buy my model glue and even when I was 17 fixing up my first car I couldn't buy primer etc.
You have a point a conventional has the engine in front of you as well as the 5 feet or so of the frame in front of you a COE has sheet metal at your toes, like a VW bus :eek:
Penske orders these vans and cubes without power windows/door locks and without tilt and cruise and a basic radio. I figure this is how they cut costs, plus it's less on the van to break. Yes their maintenance plans are very complete. On the straight trucks every PM 20K/or three months is...
Oh and a tip in the winter time run the heat full blast with the sunvisors down. This helps to keep windshield clear of fog and ice....since the windshield on these trucks are huge!!!
I've driven these trucks. I like them around town, they turn on a dime, but can't image it being good for OTR. Yes, that is the exhaust brake on the turn signal stalk. I guess make sure you buy the best shocks you can you'll need them.
The bad news is alot of the expedited freight is in the Midwest
The good news is that alot of expeditors don't like going to the west coast which would allow you more of a chance to get there, but there is no guarantee in this business on which direction you will be going.
