Well good morning,my skinny studly Canadian freind! It isnt really about the bugs, but about the looks.Uh-oh, I may be getting smug early this morning! Mpg's? If that was a concern of mine, I would have a sprinter.Actually, after I get the gear ratio changed, and computer flashed, the mpg should...

    Now for winter, keeping warm

Is the Army-Navy surplus store a good place to get a good quality sleeping bag? I'm going to get one soon, to be on the safe side if I break down.Sorry, my comfort means too much to me not to idle in the cold.Been there, done that.

Question about owner operator rates ???

I'm at an average of .87 to .90 cpm avg, loaded mile, here at ASE.Been that way since I started. The only thing that helps that is low deadhead miles, keeping the all mile pay up to a respectful level. These are van rates, no Sprinter. And on a flat-rate based system, as well. After seeing a freinds...

    Prime to buy Landstar

I am well aware they are not company owned vehicles.I used to be there myself for awile in the past. That is why I said Over 10,000 trucks in their system, meaning all of their companies/divisions combined.Last I knew, anyway.Trailers are rented to the BCO's (Business capacity owners), another...

What products have you found to make life out here more enjoyable?

I'd love to have a microwave and fridge in the van, but there is a empty weight problem that I have to keep an eye on.Also, I just do not have the room. While at home, it sometimes gets used for personal reasons, warranting the passenger seat being left in.I have a cooler, and usually have a bowl...

I have the copy in the van, I dug it out and re-read it, and he clearly states it was un-touched as far as being rebuilt, except for the belt-driven accessories needing replaced once in awile.

    Vanners.. maint intervals?

Ido have a generator here in the garage, but it jumped time 180 and needs to be fixed.Actually, as hard as it may seem to believe, the van actually leans to the right, 3/4 of an inch lower, and it drives me crazy, even put new front coils in it, and it is still that way.So I am eliminating driver...

    Vanners.. maint intervals?

Well,as I have explained to you before, on the phone, Sir OVM, if my long-term intentions of going back to doing work closer to home are in the close future, why am I going to waste my money on a generator and everything else when I plan on being home on a more regular basis? Now,if things go...

    load 1

That is what has me thinking, if there is that much difference in pay for the same run between 2 carriers, what are the others getting?Obviously, Load 1 is the more honest one of the bunch, I feel, reflecting in the pay to us.
