I don't think that you can prove that either. There is, at least a statistical correlation, between increase in crime and the increase in single parent homes. As time without parental supervision increases, so does the available amount of time for screwing up.

The difference is that WHEN kids screwed up in decades past, there were parents present to kill them for doing it. Now, the parents are FAR more likely to be absent and NOT kill them when they need it.

The same can be said in ANY state that is infested with ANY flavor of boneheads. There is no tolerance for anything other than left wing wackos in Detroit and SE Michigan in general. Normal people there have to remain "closeted" to even hope to live a life without fear.

Yes, today's family structure, or lack there of, leads a LOT to be desired. Then, couple that with the natural brain damage of teens, and it becomes a recipe for disaster.

One can assume that if they are 17 year old kids that they are brain damaged by nature. That is what leads them to drink and smoke dope in the first place.
