    A reminder guys

I'll be keeping an eye on this, too. Winter is coming, and I remember not being able to start because I hadn't put anti-gelling stuff in the fuel. Now they want no additives, and they want you to use that abominable bio-diesel which gels even easier than #2 diesel does. Reckon us gas vanners...

    Sprinter - Help please!

That's odd. I had a 2005, when I bought it it had 183,000 miles on it and when I traded it it had almost 400,000. I never had the damper fall off or give any sign that it would. Tension pulleys and idler pulleys, well, they were another matter. Mercedes could have done much better quality...

    RIP Big Tex

Not sure about viruses. I did have to fight some drive-by downloads last night, they seem to originate from ad servers and yes, they are targeting respected sites. All the drive-by download attempts were while I was visiting major news sites. Tonight, I got a different ad server trying it from...

    Wet weather blues

Quickie update: Last weekend, I did replace the cap and the rotor. The rotor had visible carbon tracking, and while the cap didn't show obvious defects it still seemed best to replace it. Since then, I've been driving in some really wet weather, it's sat overnight in heavy rain, and no problems...

    Cheap Air Brake Lock.

If someone wants it bad enough, they'll get it. But, that lock would be enough to stop some thieves, anyway. Advantage: Since you've got the key, you can apply and remove the lock quickly. The thief has to fiddle with it, and he may already be low on time to be messing with this.

    Sad day for Panther

According to the story, this was a rear-end collision. Watch your following distance, and pay attention when coming to a stop-light.

    Bankrupt!

The President is up for election every four years. The entire House of Representatives is up for election every two years. A Senator serves a six-year term, however they stagger the vote so one third (approximately) of the Senate is up for election every two years. It IS possible to do a...

    Obama's Clean Green Energy

Johnson Controls has been around a while too. They're not a brand-new start-up. A123 sounds like a renewal of the old MX program, in which the letters stand for Money eXtinguisher.

Canada Canadian Expediter shot & killed in Chicago

Like anyplace else, a bit of local knowledge goes a long way. I wouldn't try to catch some rest in the truck in the Austin neighborhood if you paid me for it, and certain of the near suburbs are risky too. On the other hand, if I didn't already live here I might try it in the Target parking lot...

OK. We're done here, you'll just have to learn it the hard way.

    Abandoned

That's---- not---- exactly accurate. Everybody and his brother dreams of setting himself up in his own business and telling his former boss what he can go do with himself. He figures he has no boss now, doesn't have to watch the clock and so on. Problem: You've just exchanged one boss for...

    Abandoned

You missed our point. Keep talking about the people you drive for/represent like this, and you won't have to worry about it anymore. My advise to you is to stick a sock in your tater trap right now. It may come as a surprise to you that company hiring managers actually read this stuff. If they...

    Abandoned

Don't hold your breath. Of course, there are times when a deadline absolutely can't be made. It will happen to the best of us. However, all I can see Subzero doing with that attitude is to get his contract terminated. He thinks that because his present "employer" isn't in expedited that it won't...

Canada Canadian Expediter shot & killed in Chicago

Been to Memphis twice. The part I was in, you didn't have to know much. It just looked nasty. I made my delivery-- fortunately, that place is gated with active security-- and got out. Down near the rail yards, not too far from the airport, and when I saw warnings here to stay away from the...

Canada Canadian Expediter shot & killed in Chicago

Englewood is something of a war zone. Of course, the Canadian truck driver didn't know that, and it may have been peaceful near the house at the moment-- but still, Englewood is not a great place to be.

    Mileage rate

Thank you. I thought that total business miles was the case but wasn't absolutely sure. Unfortunately, the outfit I drive for at the moment doesn't allow using their authority on runs they didn't have a hand in.

Coal miners say Obama ad is a lie.. they were not forced to attend Romney event.

If the ads I've seen in West Virginia are any indication, Obama is in an awful lot of trouble in coal country. Seems the Obama administration has been trying to shut down the coal industry, and now he expects these people to vote for him???

    Wet weather blues

I remember when I drove the Sprinter, that I didn't miss wet-weather ignition problems. Instead, I had to concern myself with fuel that would gel when the weather gets cold--- unless you pour stuff into the fuel to keep that from happening. A full tank of fuel is no good if it's gelled. So...

    Wet weather blues

I imagine I will have to replace wires, anyway. They were last replaced a year ago last August, since then they've seen more than 100,000 miles. I might be wise to have the plugs replaced rather than doing it myself, if one sticks it can be a bear to get out and that could be a job for a pro...
