Welcome to August " the dog days of summer "

An oil pressure gauge would be nice. I do use the ScanGaue II and it will give me a digital readout of the coolant temperature and the voltage. The dash gauge for the temp is analog. One other symptom of failing bearings is the engine will run hotter than normal. One of the first comments...

Welcome to August " the dog days of summer "

Apparently the camshaft bearings really do have a lifespan of about 650,000 to 750,000 miles in properly maintained engines. Those who stray from the list and/or don't change the oil on time will be doing good to see 500,000 miles. Mine went at 680,000, but I've also had probably 100,000 miles...

Welcome to August " the dog days of summer "

Still reading the threads and handling admin duties, and a few PMs behind the scenes. :) I'm in Toledo having the engine in the Sprinter replaced. Engine started making noises a few weeks ago and finally got to the point where it sounded more like an air compressor than a Sprinter engine, and...

    The Libertarians.... spoilers

It's a pretty interesting little self-quiz that more or less lets you know how you stand on the issues compared to the candidates (probably why the Website is isidewith.com <snort>), especially if you do all the "answer more" questions and move the slider as to the relative importance. It's a...

    The Trump Card...

Yeah, billboards is probably going to have to be it. They don't watch a whole lot of television, and they're not exactly Twitter wizards.

    The Trump Card...

Trump needs to convince the Amish to vote. They hardly ever vote in national elections, maybe 10% or so , but when they do they are overwhelmingly Republicans.

    The Libertarians.... spoilers

Like Moot, I voted for John Anderson in my first presidential election. I voted for Reagan in his second term, but other than that it's been mostly a third party candidate for me. I'm quite liberal on some issues, quite conservative on others, so the whole notion of being a single issue voter...

    The Libertarians.... spoilers

I do think in this election Johnson will draw more from Hillary than from Trump, although not by much. You can see that in the polls where, as the press says, "Clinton ahead by 8 points, 48 to 40, in the polls!" and then when they get 75 paragraphs down into the piece we see that those 8 points...

    The Libertarians.... spoilers

Whether third party candidates are spoilers is certainly debatable and depends on your point of view. Nevertheless, I reiterate, there is no debate on whether a third party candidate can have a major effect on an election outcome. History has shown that it can. If you for-sure don't want Trump...

    The Libertarians.... spoilers

Remember how Ralph Nader took several thousand votes away from Gore in Florida? There ya go. Granted, the are other valid arguments to be made beyond such a simplistic conclusion, but as the video above excellently shows, a third party candidate can have a major effect on an election outcome...

Trucking Horror Stories From The Bakken Oil Fields

You shouldn't be surprised, really. There is going to be a natural skepticism when a new user joins up and immediately completes their profile page to read as a corporate ad, chooses as their first post on an expediting Website forum an article that doesn't apply to the expediting industry, one...

    The Trump Card...

Yep. Like Al Fraken in Minnesota. But you may or may not want to brush up on Florida, depending on which memory of history best soothes your soul - the accurate one of the one you choose to believe. Bush never lost in Florida, and never requested a recount. Just the opposite. Because of the...
