Unions: People not lining up to join unions?

There's not an intelligent person on this planet who can't figure out that the largest employer in the world can afford to buy a lot of PR, too.

    Smile

Only the ones who know that loyalty can't be hired - it has to be inspired.

What would you tell these ppl?

Tell them any more texts get posted to facebook, asking if anyone knows who this idiot is....

Unions: People not lining up to join unions?

There's many reasons for that - some legitimate [the really powerful unions are as corrupt as the powerful corporations they originally fought against] but some have more to do with perception, driven by PR, bought & paid for by those whose interests don't align with the unions, and intimidation...

    Wanted to say hello

Oh sure - you say that now....just kidding. If you've been lurking, you know we do a bit of that, now & then Welcome! :o

    Talking of car parks .....

We have snow plows who do the same thing, lol. That's why I'm parked at a truckstop, instead of a bigbox store.;)

Inmates on work crew save 3 boys from frigid Washington river

A good movie - if a little too much screaming for my taste, lol. PS "Gray lady" refers to the ship, yes? ;)

    Why?

I don't have any mags or books - how about asking, next time you go, whether they would accept a box of microwave popcorn & hard candies [all individually wrapped] for general distribution? If so, plenty of drivers would drop off a box at a nearby VA hospital, while on layover.....

America's Social Pillars Falling Like Dominoes.

Sth: I agree with everything Suzanne Venker wrote, except for one thing: that every woman needs a man. She falls into the same trap she decries: generalizing that the whole is the same for each individual, but it's not, and many women don't 'need' a man. For much of my life, I did, [kids...

America's Social Pillars Falling Like Dominoes.

Based on my (various) observations, having lived in Tx for a couple years, the cartoon that describes a cowboy hat sitting atop a pair of cowboy boots as "A Texan with all the s**t kicked out of him" isn't much of an exaggeration, lol. ;)

    Why?

As Los says, "thank you for serving" has become as empty as "how are you?" and "have a nice day", but some are saying it with actions as well. Like Susie, whose truck is a moving [in both senses of the word] tribute. Others, including myself, have sent 'care packages' to soldiers serving...

America's Social Pillars Falling Like Dominoes.

Nice catch, witness, lol. Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar, but sometimes, it's a Freudian slip, and that was a dilly! ;)

America's Social Pillars Falling Like Dominoes.

Perhaps you could include some reading material that describes how women felt about having babies until their uteri fell out, or how it felt to be pregnant & unmarried in the 50's, sent to a 'home for unwed mothers' and forced to give birth, then give the baby [and those were babies] up for...

The GOP Lunacy Parade Continues ...

I just realized something: I've been a stay at home Mom [now & again], and I have an autoimmune disorder too - hey, I'm qualified to run for the Senate!!!! Nah - I love my job too much to give it up. ;)

The GOP Lunacy Parade Continues ...

    Wouldn't bother me a bit - I don't live in Mass. :D

America's Social Pillars Falling Like Dominoes.

I have a sneaking suspicion the America you knew and loved so dearly is the one where women 'knew their place' ..... Sorry, dude, it's gone. And it aint coming back, neither. ;)

The GOP Lunacy Parade Continues ...

I thought McCain should have been jettisoned when he chose [of his own free will!] Palin as a running mate - clearly out to lunchville even back then.

The GOP Lunacy Parade Continues ...

I tried, [because the whole "Reading is fundamental" concept cracked me up] but it says Windows doesn't recognize the file protocol..... Muttly: I'm sure a lot of Dems would just love for Ann Romney to run, [as a Repub, of course] too - but the Mass Repubs thought of it first. ;)

Whatever it is you're "just sayin", it's about as clear as mud.
