    Personal attacks

DISCLAIMER: This is, in no way, a personal attack on Babs. It's just my take on the situation. Part of the problem is that some people take simple disagreement as a personal attack. If the person with the opposing view is accused of a personal attack, it becomes so in some peoples minds. I have...

    Beware of Cummins motors

I know what you mean about technicians. A few years ago I had a problem with my Powerstroke that ended up being a broken line to the turbo. You could hear it sucking air. The technician plugged in the scanner and there was no code. Logical conclusion? There's nothing wrong. I managed to find a...

    Didn't make it

You've done better than me on brakes. I've had rotor problems. I've gotten 180 to 200 out of my Good Years. I did have one set that had cracking near the bead and some bulging. I replaced them at 160. My tire dealer sells Michlin but he steers his customers away from them. He says he had too...

Leo,it's time to cut the anchor loose

Since anchored posts are clearly the exception, I think it has nothing to do with fairness. The post isn't some long winded story. It's solid operational info that could put a couple of extra bucks in a drivers pocket at the end of the day. It's the kind of help we're supposed to try to give here.

Leo,it's time to cut the anchor loose

I agree with Leo. It's great info for a newb. Clicking on the 2nd thread is a problem? I must be missing something...

Which company actually cares about good drivers?

RE: Which company actually cares about good driver Flatbedin, I can assure you we want to see the newbs get good info and enjoy using this site. The posts that related to your question were, for the most part, helpful. Based on my experience, your problem delivering in PA is something that is...

    Are These The Bad Times?

I can verify that I have had, and overheard, conversations with drivers from the expedite sector and general freight hauling. There seems to be a consensus that this has been a slow year for freight, be it auto or otherwise. This info would be anecdotal, but I'm trying to be objective about it.

Which company actually cares about good drivers?

RE: Which company actually cares about good driver You're right Chuck. The past is just that. So I'll keep my criticism to just this thread. You say that our responces are the same "canned BS". Then, you encourage a newbie to ask questions. If you really believe our answers are BS, why would...

A few of those sounded a lot like Yogi Berra. No one can butcher the language quite like a jock.

American Trucking Associations pushed HOS regs on

RE: American Trucking Associations pushed HOS regs You seem to enjoy changing the context of some of the things Thawk has said to you. He was clearly not making a blanket statement about drivers when he commented on some of them being dumb. Some of them are. This is true in any business or walk...

    Christmas Shopping

It seems I always end up in the grocery store a day or 2 before a big holiday getting ready to prepare the "Big Meal". This can be every bit as bad as the maul. The worst is when you have 2 groups of people totally bocking the aisle as they have a conversation. You can be standing there...

    Dock Height?

I have had to break down skids and put the boxes on a dock from time to time. I've heard of people being sent to a place with a big bin and no ground level door. The vast majority of the time there is no problem. If you get a van you will learn to travel a bit lighter.

Supercross season kicks off this weekend

Things settled down a bit in Vancouver and returned to business as usual. The podium was Carmichael, Stewart and Reed, with Reed being a few clicks off the pace. Stewart led most of the race, with Carmichael staying about a second behind and patiently waiting for a mistake to take advantage of...

    Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Happy birthday Phreak. At first glance I wondered why you didn't keep going. Then I noticed the coolant lines, ect. Kudos to your driver for keeping his head and not jerking the wheel. I hit one with a CL9000 cabover dead center. In my case he didn't go under the truck and I was good to keep...

    Christmas Decorations

Since the moose is in a commercial vehicle, wouldn't he be subject to random testing? Also, how often is the moose using? I would be concerned about being in such a small enclosed area with him lighting up all the time.

NFL DRAFT - Who will get the first pick?

If Quinn did end up with the Lions, would you actually become a fan? Wouldn't they be the one exception? There's already plenty of us banging our heads against the wall.
