People are scared. Many out there are NOT as stupid as our "lawmakers" are. They KNOW that no one or no government can spend money the way they are without things going town the drain. Scared people don't buy, the hold back. For good reason.

A good number of them are. Most GOOD business people would prefer to stay in business and earn a GOOD living. They are also used to being around people who have an idea what 2+2 means.

The dropping home sales are just one example or, better yet, a "reflection" of what is going on all over the economy. As things slow it will have a greater affect on expediting and transportation over all.

The EPA is cutting into things too.

Retail is a really tough profit business. Many items have little or no mark up, so little or no profit. Those items need to be made up by higher mark ups on others. The market is far better at setting wages than the government. What do they know about costing out labor? The value of a job...

Do something to improve your skill set so you have more to "sell" so to speak. The government as no business setting a "minimum wage" in the first place. What employer thinks a job is worth is frankly NONE of the governments business. All raising that wage does is increase costs, lowers profits...

Yep, I am starting to see things slow again. Home sales are dropping and are their lowest point for the year so far. Keep in mind that June and July are normally BIG months for real estate. People buying or selling to move while school is out. If it is slow in the busy months, what will happen...

I don't know about truck stops. Back when gas was around $2 per gallon I looked into buying a station. They were, at that time, making just over 3 cents per gallon on the gas. Their entire profit was made off of retail sales.

The problem is that people are scared. The economy is not that good. Then put "change" into that as well. Then the "rumors" start. It is the rumors that are causing the problems. I signed on with FedEx for MANY reasons, those reasons are still valid today. I am just like everyone else...

That would require them to care about customer service.

Just set up firing squads out side the capitol and inform them that they have to get it right, or else. That would fix things, assuming that they follow through with the threat.
