    A time to be thankful

Be thankful that you have a load today. Be thankful that as you wait for the next dispatch to come, you know in time it will. Be thankful that your carrier has not closed their doors or cut trucks from their fleets even though it may seem slow right now. Think of those we hear of each day...

    A really cool photo

Based on a buy of 120 C-17s beginning in 1993 and with the last being delivered in 2004 that was the original nunber. They have a design service life of 30,000 hrs. with the fleet aging more were ordered with delivery slated through 2008 bringing the total to approximately 200 according to...

    A really cool photo

Hauled some replacement parts for one of these last week. According to research I did online, the federal government appropriated $200 billion for ten of these to be built and delivered to the DOD in 2008. Unbelievable!

There is no such thing as doing us (the carrier) a favor! You don't do favors for us because you got paid for what you did. 1st favor load: 96 cents/ml 2nd favor load: $1.06 /ml 3rd favor load: 78 cents/ml We Refused All three were in a row offered to our Dr-unit When we voiced our...

    hard times

Originally, once we gave our prior carrier 48 hours with no offers or refusals, we could call dispatch and ask to be relocated to another express center nearby. If there were ample trucks in that express center they would not pay you to move. In many cases we found we were wise to go to the...

    hard times

That goes right back to the saying " you have to spend money to make money" and you can't be afraid to do so. We move to where we know the freight is, even if the carrier does not ( not as much an issue here as in the past). We make far more for our meager investment than had we waited days for...

    I'm amazed!

You are right Steve, although on several occassions when we questioned the dispatcher regarding the time(s) we were told "thats the eta that was qouted to the customer and we must stick to it". I assumed this was done be the carrier in letting the customer know how early they could expect the...

The Trucker Who Cannot Not Truck

Glen is such an inspiration to all of us, don't you think. Glen, Shawna and I want to shake your hand personally and hope our pathes will cross. Glen was kind enough to take my calls and answer questions regarding purchasing the tractor we now own and drive. His input was very graciously...

    I'm amazed!

Why would ANY carrier insist that the driver show up at a shipper/receiever on an un-confirmed time that was solely based on an eta that a dispatcher quoted? Nothing worse than getting there in the middle of the night and the place is locked up and nowhere for miles to park, muchless park...

    I'm amazed!

Excellent comment Dave! I'm probably going to be seen as FDCC bashing again but my point here is good: When in our DR-unit bad directions was not as much of an issue as when we leased our T/T on with them. In the five years that we were leased on with them ( 4 yrs DR / 1 yr ER), it was...

OMG! Theres a man in the ladies room.

Week before last while my wife and I were staying at the TA in New Braunfels,TX for the son's graduation at Lackland AFB something unusual went on at the TA. As we sat eating an early dinner in the restuarant, two females (or so we thought) came in and sat at the counter directly across from...

NEWS FLASH!!! Streakn just said something nice about his previous carrier in another thread!!! There's hope for me yet! LOL I do have a nice side to me. In all fairness to the Newbies reading these forums, is it not better to provide them with both the good and not so good regarding...

    I'm amazed!

Thanks Steve, that answers my question. It sounds to me than in all fairness to the customer FECC does not pass any additional cost onto the customer for using two-three trucks to do the job of one. That keeps FECC competitively priced on the load and the customer still gets the quality service...

    I'm amazed!

I have to agree with you Phil. The FECC name is associated with QUALITY SERVICE. I feel this is why most customers call in the first place. Then when faced with a choice of breaking up an ER load to say 2-3 DR/CR units and possibly faced with having to pay a bit more since an ER is not availible...
