    Express pasta cooker

I finally bought my George Foreman type (Hamilton Beach) grill. At $45, it's large enough for two good sized steaks, or 3 chops. It has a removable grill so washing's a whiz. Now I'll make it a point to stop at a Supercenter and grab some porterhouse and some potato salad. I'll have a better...

    Panther IPO

Ontario... you're right about settling down. But if you look at certain IPOs that show a lot of interest in the first day, it may be good to grab at the beginning. Boston Market comes to mind (then Boston Chicken). It started around 18, and jumped to 38 by day's end. Of course, it dropped back...

    90% of load to truck

What he said was he gets 100% and pays 7% for factoring. You're right... 17% makes it hard to be worth it. The gig I had last year, with my old cabover, was 7% to the authority and 5% factoring. 12% was well worth it, other than the guy was constantly late with paying me. I also got shafted on...

    ENRON

True... and the surge devices are what pays out in case your computer takes a dive during a brownout. Companies like Kensington usually has a $10,000 guarantee on their protectors.

question about my co driver taking medications

If it's minor anti-depressants, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Something as extreme as lithium would be a disqualifier, however. As there are so many meds on the board for depression, I would check with someone who does DOT physicals.

    Cabover

In a lot of ways, I'd call it better. The Argosy is smoooooth! With a 110" cab/sleeper, you can fit a 30' box on the back. Drove one for Col. Foster, and I have to say that was the best truck as far as utilizing what you have available. I wouldn't say it's for the normal carrier tho.

    Question for TCall

You have a lot of cahones stating Bush never makes his own decisions, when Clintons own advisors have said over and over HIS decisions were based on POLLS! It's clear how you lean, and it doesn't matter what they do in your party, you'll still support them. Some of us, however, have snubbed the...

    ENRON

Like my dad says... how many steaks do they want for dinner? It's human nature to separate ppl from what they have, whether it's by stealing or selling or scamming. The more you control what they own, the more power you hold over their lives. He who buys need one hundred eyes. But one's enough...

    Only in California...

Come on, Greg. You know laws are written, or not written, because special interests make their voices heard. Amnesty for illegals is opposed by 70% of the ppl, yet the senate is STILL ignoring that fact. Hopefully, the house will still dessent. I see the house as being the only voice that...

    Only in California...

I love hearing this take on Bush's approval rating. I don't like the man, his policies, his staff, his ideology, his business ties, the result of those ties, his party (YES, HIS PARTY!), or his grammar! But I have yet to see a bumper sticker saying "Impeach Bush, and her husband too!" ROFLMAO...

    stupid dispatched deadhead runs

That's a good question. What companies besides Panther and Landstar let you find your own runs without taking a huge chunk? I find it interesting when I bring up that we found a load to the dispatchers, that we get 20 questions. I mentioned the fact to them that we left Houston (which was...

    looking for some answers/opinions

Snow... Maybe you should've started another thread with this question. If you post a classified looking for an E team, you should eventually get replies. Renew it once a week or so. Straight up tho... Finding t/t teams in expediting are hard, IMO. Seems that most come from the OTR mentality, and...

Diesel price versus cost, or whose $20 is that?

RE: Diesel price versus cost, or whose $20 is that Leo, you missed what I was saying tho. Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and I think Michigan don't charge all of their taxes when you buy the fuel. Rather, they wait until the end of the quarter then charge you the rest if what you owe. For example...

The Cost of Fuel is getting Crazy

    > The cost of fuel is not crazy! It is less than in 1958 >when I graduated HS, Just adjust it for inflation. Over seas >the "high cost" is really taxes just like Canada, only >worse. In addition some countrys tax each HP or in Japan, >the square footage of road the car occupies. > In...

Diesel price versus cost, or whose $20 is that?

RE: Diesel price versus cost, or whose $20 is that This is a good post, Leo. I tried in the other post to explain it in a few words, but didn't do a good job, I guess. GA was one of them I said to stay away from. IN and OH are two more. I was surprised at how economical it is to buy in PA...
