How long to keep Log Books?

Finney, You do need those logs. They are the required proof if you use the per diem deduction. If you do not have a log book showing you were away from home that whole day, they will disallow the deduction. And as of this year, that is $41.00 per day... that adds up REAL quick. I have found...

Kind of OT... but slick work truck...

OK... I've always been a sucker for slick paint and polished aluminum/chrome etc... someone brought this truck to my attention, so of course I had to share it here! :+ I'm sure by now we've all seen those new Class 7 Pickup/Hot Shot style rigs for the ranches, etc... but this one really...

    Conway Now

Sounds like you have an unusual deal there... most deals that I've heard of pay 60% and the DRIVER pays the fuel. There's the difference in your figures and theres... Seems to me like a fleet owner would not be making much with a van if he paid 60% PLUS fuel. Dreamer

    Dream Truck

    >That is what I am missing; the big screen tv >If I didn't have to haul freight I could add a hot tub and >pool table. >Davekc All that stuff that article said was in there, and you don't have a big TV? That's be my first thing in a truck your size! Dreamer

    Confused about truck classifications

When we say Class A or B, that is talking about the kind of license required. Tractor Trailors require a Class A license, while Straight Trucks require Class B. The other thing that might be confusing you is a Class 7 or Class 8 truck? (I'm guessing here)... Class 7's are usually medium duty...

    The Magic Words....

X, I think I know what you mean.. what was said to us that made us WANT to take that run... Well, it's all about attitude. Even if it's a bad run, I always liked it if a dispatcher didnt' try to patronize me, or insult my intelligence. Don't give me this "You're the only truck".. "Well, it's...

Winter time in my Cargo Van

Sounds very similar to the set up a guy had I met a while back.. only his was one of those hitch mount cargo carriers... sat the generator on it and strapped it down. Sounds like your 'swing a way' mount would be more user friendly tho, and definately quicker to set up! Thanks for sharing your...

    Vacations /When?/ How often?/

One thing I would do, is make a list of the days you "HAVE" to be home.. only you can decide that. That's part of the freedom you have with Expediting instead of regular OTR. Examples: Medical appts, Holidays you refuse to run on, family events such as birthdays, weddings, graduations, etc...

    Sprinter Sleeper conversion pics.

RE: Preacher Preacher, The problem here is going to be weight. Even tho you may find one rated under 10,000.. by the time you put all that stuff in, it will be too heavy to haul a normal van load. I know this from experience. My brother bought a new Ford E350, with the attic, 12 ft box, and...
