Canada A New Type Canadian Crossing

That idea will not work during many of the winters. Too much ice. Lake Eire can get very bad in winter storms too, the boats would most likely have to stay in port on the worst days. Yes, it is a lake, yes it is a short run. I know that. BUT, Lake Erie has a long history of eating boats of all...

    IMPORTANT FYI ABOUT TAX AUDITS

What about the parking pad I had put in at the house? Cost me a pretty penny and the only reason it was put in was to park my truck. Layoutshooter

Phil is right, we have had to dead head a long way a couple of times to cover loads but is has been worth it. We have lucked out on a couple as well. One we picked up in the afternoon at the same place we delivered that morning. 0 deadhead miles, cool eh? We got a run for tomorrow that was only...

Hey FedEx Drivers - CLink vs. VRU

The more information that a driver has the better that driver will be. There is information on the extranet that a driver has no need to know but there are things there that we do need. There should be a driver only section on it. A place where FedEx could pass on info.. We could order shirts...

Hey FedEx Drivers - CLink vs. VRU

RE: Hey FedEx Drivers - CLink vs. VRUFDCC, Guess us drivers are just second class citisens. Seems to me there should be limited access for things we need to know/learn or could use. Layoutshooter

Hey FedEx Drivers - CLink vs. VRU

RE: Hey FedEx Drivers - CLink vs. VRUFDCC, I have been with FedEx for over a year and have never been able to connect to the extranet. I was told that it was for owners only, not just us drivers. True or false? Layoutshooter

fuel consumption has to be better than idling. Seems like you could run with a generator only and use 110 ac etc. Layoutshooter

Those hygrongen generators looked interesting at M.A.T.S. The hype bothered me. I don't trust too many hucksters. Fuel cells should take a clean source of hydrogen and it's only by-product will be H2O. I need to figure this out. Let's see, 2 o4 6 volt hi cap batts............. etc. Whew, tired...

    Shotgun in sleeper

I think that you will find that most pepper sprays are illegal in most states. Michigan and Calf for sure. Canada as well. It seems that government does not want you to be able to defend yourself. The best defense is open eyes. There will never be a way to completly protect yourself. We just...

I used to get 32mpg from my 1966 Pontiac Tempest. A Model T got better than that. Fuel is not the problem. Engines are not the problem. Weight is. Weight must be moved. It takes BTU's to do that no matter where you get them. Batteries pollute. Burning fuel pollutes. So does breathing. I am just...

Does anyone ever make anything themselves anymore? I find it kind of amazing that in this day and age that there is no good alternative to the exsiting systems. They have been using fuel cells in the space program since the 1960's. I wish I had the brain power/money and time to work on this...

Thanks Leo, Never looked at it that way. I like the concept but it may have a way to go yet. I really like the 6volt hi-caps. I would like to see them in a traditional storage setup. WAY more capcity and much better life cycle. Layoutshooter

What about some of the battery opporated systems? they use 2 6 volt hi-cap deep cycles to run them. They are claiming a 10 run time on a charge and a 4-6 hour re-charge. Anyone have any experiance with them? Layoutshooter check out www.nitesystem.com

What is the lastest and greatest in generators/AC/heat for sleepers? The ability to use shore power and have heat and air I think would be a must. Are people going to a generator only using RV type roof mounts or are the sticking with systems that direct drive a compressor? Whats the scoop...
