    $#&*^% DARN IT!!!!

Well, I had an expandable rubber oil filler plug put in at the TA in Wytheville. It has worked so far. We made it as far as Charleston WV. Only 24 miles to go on Tuesday morning. Cross you fingers but we have a chance!!! Thanks to all here, what a great resource this is. Layoutshooter

Hey VavMan, ANYTHING could have happened. They tried plumbers tape at Speedco but it did not work. I still think Speedco is a fault, they said nothing about the plug being too loose or too tight when they took it out. Who knows. Layoutshooter

I am going to try a plug today, I think it will hold till I can drop this load on Tues. I will be in contact with Speedco on Tues as well. I did not see them put the plug in, they had put it in and the oil was in. They called me out to witness the "torqing of the plugs" as normal and it would...

I have their sheet that they gave me there. I will most likely have to get a lawyer on it. Who knows if that will be worth the cost and effort and time. I am going to try to plug it in the morning, like you say, just to hold it to get this load off. There is a DD service center 20 miles from...

I just love this forum, I ALWAYS get such great ideas!!! Not sure Bob, no one here will even look at it until Tuesday. That is why I am looking for a temp fix to get me up the road. FedEx is havnig trouble finding anyone to take this and they are not sure if the customer will let them break the...

I like the JB Weld idea, I will try it a first light. The threads have been wrapped with teflon tape already. It drips only a drop every couple of minutes. How hard is it to get the JB stuff off once it is on? Layoutshooter

They said it was not their fault and will not fix it. I watched them try to torqe it but I did not see them put it in. All I know is that it was not leaking when I took it in and I cannot run at all now. Has anyone tried the Fumoto quick drain valves? Layoutshooter

I will look in the TA for such a thing, but I somehow doubt it. Maybe a transom plug for a boat might work. I will have to call a cab tomorrow and see if I can get to a Wally World to see what I can find. I am TOO tired and TOO fed up to try it tonight. Layoutshooter

I give up. I stopped for a oil change at the Speedco in Wytheville VA. I have a load on the truck that does not deliver until Tues at 9am. Figured this was a good time to do it. WRONG!!! When they tried to tourqe on the drain plug it stripped and will no longer stay in the oil pan, it's Sat on a...

    Latest on Mexican Trucks Issue

I don't see anyone from either party helping, or the trucking industry. We have to help ourselves, but we won't. We will file lawsuits, injunctions, stays etc and in it will still happen. Let's all vote out everyone and put in dead frogs, they won't stink as bad as what we have in there now...

    women's safety

Thank you for bringing this topic up Leo, we need to talk about it more often. Pepper sprays are not legal in many states as well as Canada. Seems that many governments don't want people to defend themselfs. One thing that is legal everywhere is a walking cane. My wife's uncle told me about...

RE: i will explain it one time more ok I would look into the airbags and the liquid problems, both could have added to the problem. I have felt liquid in totes moving from time to time. They are a pain. Layoutshooter

Mexican trucks begin this weekend ...

Yep and his son will be next. Remeber, it is not voter apathy that stops most from voting, it is voter discust. We have to control our government better, they seem to have forgotten that they work FOR us, they DO NOT rule us. it is our fault though, we let them get away with it as long as they...

How Do You Secure Your Freight?

I thought FedEx still required 4 4ft pieces of 2x4, nails and "plywood decking" It does not say how much decking or thickness etc. They also require 3 rows of e track, floor rings and don't forget the hammer and nails. I have never used decking or 2x4's but will have them when they check me in...

    For FedEx folks relocating changes

I was always under the impression that planing at the FED was a 9 to 5 type place. We try to ask for a relocation before 4pm to be sure to get them. Most of the time it is not worth the trouble for us. EVERY time we have been given a relocation we got a load from where we were sitting within 5...
