Are the slacks going over 90 degrees with brakes applied? Are all axles underperforming, or is one better than the other?

Why does the Transit have 2 batteries

I worked for a military contractor for a while. Initially the M1A2 Abrams tank had 6 flooded lead acid batteries ($75 each). Later versions of the tank had ten AGM batteries ($250 each). We had to get chargers that were constant voltage, around 15.2 volts or so, to full charge them. Then their...

    Sprinter power steering

LHM should have nothing to do with it because pump flow is directly related to engine speed, not engine output. Speaking of flow, depending how the rack is blown, there may be no pressure at pump outlet. Pressure=resistance to flow, essentially, so if you're trying to troubleshoot with a gauge...

Stopping the reverse beeping on the transit

The easiest way to fix it is to stab it in the face with an ice pick. It might still work, but it'll be muted somewhat. Perform at your own risk.

    Kidney stones

On a scale of one to Mola Ram, I'll give it a rating of Jackass: riot control. Naughty language alert.

    Kidney stones

They gave me a bunch of painkillers with a saline chaser, did a PET scan, and told me I could go home if I found a ride. The wife is overseas, so I had a coworker pick me up. It took about 10 hours to pass. Not much they could do except dull the pain (which I am grateful for).

    Kidney stones

I had my first (and hopefully last) early Friday morning. It woke me up. Tried driving to the ER. Had to abandon my truck and get an ambulance ride. They told me to limit my calcium intake. I guess I can't treat half-n-half like a beverage anymore.

    General sprinter rearend question

I put a ring and pinion on one last year. I'm assuming it had been leaking from somewhere for a while because it was the pinion bearings that failed. Customer was shocked at the cost of OEM parts. Took a gamble with his approval: bought a ring and pinion kit off of eBay for about $400...

Why does a Sprinter put me to sleep

Current owner of an '01 Allroad Quattro. This thing is the most complicated, difficult to work on German exercise in unnecessary complexity ever concieved. I love it. It's a station wagon with twin turbo and air suspension. What could possibly go wrong? It's at work, languishing, front end...

Diesels don't even make vacuum unless there's an airflow restriction in the intake, so you're right, that one won't work. Combustion Leak Detector *insert dick pump joke*

There's one with a squeeze bulb like a turkey baster. Youll eventually have to buy more fluid, but one bottle will do around 10 vehicles.

Why does a Sprinter put me to sleep

Speaking of five cylinder engines, one in particular stands out in my mind. Remember back in the 80's when domestic V8s were making 190hp? Audi built this thing for Group B homologation and it was making 450hp in race trim. Then if you took two inline fives, joined them at 90 degrees at...

I agree. When the cups are installed, a sealant is applied before swaging it in place. I wonder if this was forgotten. One thing I have not seen but is possible is the compressor head gasket leaking and pushing in air. If it passes the combustion gas test, it's a suspect. Atmospheric air...

And put new head bolts in it. When coolant breaches the hg, they corrode.
