    Carrier cutting rates

And my point is, when a company effectively changes the percent of gross they are paying, they should change the contract percent they are paying, not add some surcharge. Trailer Transit was a step ahead as they, apparently, told you what they were going to do. That may be enough to save them...

    Carrier cutting rates

I think this is the important point. If a rotten company decides to shave your pay by running a scam, the court would certainly hear a class action suit intent on setting things right, probably including criminal charges against those that benefited from the scam against their drivers.

    Carrier cutting rates

OK, I don't know if it is true in every state, but in Michigan anyone can look up a company on the secretary of state's web site to determine ownership. So if the Fly By Night Expediting Company owns the Guess Who Is Scamming You Now Transportation Group, you could see that with a minimum of...

    Carrier cutting rates

It would seem very obvious, after looking at a dozen or so invoices, if they were pulling a sham on you or not. I was talking about a real honest company/owner like Load-1.

    Carrier cutting rates

I think working on a percentage must be much better. Seriously, if a load pays less, then the carrier shares the pain. If a load pays more, everyone shares the gain as well. Why should the owners & drivers take the full hit of lower rates while the carrier just takes advantage of (supposedly)...

    Vans By the Numbers

Ford HAS announced the GVW which is 9,600 lbs. for the 4 wheelers. What is the sprinter? 8,550? The E350 is about 5,200 lbs. and Ford has said the Transit will be 300 lbs. lighter, about 4,900 lbs. empty, resulting in an expected 4,700 lbs. payload.

    Vans By the Numbers

The Transits front wheels are set back further than the E350, which balances the truck cg and reduces rear overhang. At 21 mpg on gas, I'll bet most owners will appreciate the true beauty of the Transit. The hot model for expediting may well be the mid roof long length, not the high roof...

    I think I've found your problem- Canadian Math! "4.00 - 1.25 = 3.75"???????

    Carrier cutting rates

OK smart guy! I've been there longer than you've been gone. EVERY 6 wheeler sprinter can haul more than 3,250 and, in fact, there are 6 wheeler sprinters. And my new Ford XLT10 can carry more than 4,000 lbs. legally. You are correct when you state the SPRINTER RATE WAS $1.00 per mile, now...

If I have it right and no D unit premiums were paid, Express-1 would GROSS you a whopping $3,208 for that week, minus QualComm minus insurance minua occ/acc, etc. You'd have about a $3,000 check.

    Carrier cutting rates

The correct answer is that no one can answer this yet. When asked if the straight truck premium for over 12,500 lbs capacity and/or the sprinter premium for over 3,250 lbs capacity was gone? The answer was "I think they are gone but those issues were not addressed specifically in the rate...

    Carrier cutting rates

Talked to three other Sprinter owners this week. Their comments were: Sprinter Team: I'm cutting my cargo area back to 9' or so. If we're not getting paid for the third skid anymore, we can use the personal space. The new rate sucks but we are probably staying. Sprinter Solo: I'm not...

One of the dumbest things I ever tried or How Not To Heat A Van

Well, yes & no. It's inside a sealed box with the only air exit/entry through a door to the exterior. That box is heavily insulated on the inside of the truck to prevent the noise problem experienced here. There is a 1/4" of aluminum and 2" of insulation between me and my Yamaha generator. I...

    Carrier cutting rates

If I've this right, I'll have to drive 50% more miles to make the same net, assuming the $0.40 for the truck must be paid first out of every miles. I don't think that's possible given daily mileage limitations imposed by the safety department and dispatching limitations, among others...

    Carrier cutting rates

Keeping in mind the truck gets "paid" the same $0.40 a mile, that' a 25% (approximately) reduction in pay to the driver!

Yes, the pay came Monday, after some bounced checks I suppose. Right after 8 am this morning, you should see more first time posters supporting the new Express-1 pay structure. Recruiters stroll in near, or just after 8, get their coffee, and start checking the forums and email, answering...
