Do you take the time to continue your education in

RE: Do you take the time to continue your educatio The mis-conceptions in regards to traveling Mexico are beyond me. I guess one needs to actually do it before truly understanding the risk ========================================== It looks like a fun trip, but I still wouldn't do it as a owner...

Do you take the time to continue your education in

RE: Do you take the time to continue your educatio Unless you are paying a recovery bond, there isn't a load that would pay enough to go. Unless of course the load pays more than the value of your truck. Insurance isn't inforcible once you cross the border. If a Mexican federal agent wants to...

    how to figure cubes

it's frozen Margaritas - just fill the blender with cubes - no need to figure! I agree with Cherri This formula will always get you to the closest answer. If not, you will be happy knowing it! Davekc owner 21 years PantherII EO moderator

    Hino Owners

KW dealer in FL sold both and there was roughly a ten thousand dollar difference on chassis price with the KW300 having a bigger engine, fuel tanks, and a couple of other things. I would figure the sleeper, box and other items would be simular? Sounds like the dealer made some extra cash after...

Finding your own loads can be profitable if you know where to look. I do agree its a two way street as both are selling a service to each other. Davekc owner 21 years PantherII EO moderator

How do you handle making decisions quickly????

Knowing what it costs per mile to run your truck is the key. Knowing that number against the total miles of a run will tell you if it is profitable to take. Other considerations are the location the load takes you to, and for some companies, how many other trucks are in your area? We simply...

OK, Time for some real help

They are very valid questions but vary widely from carrier to carrier. That is why you see little information on the specifics. Most is covered in the orientation with your respective new carrier. Some companies provide little or vague information, while others are pretty thorough. Just basic...

    Hino Owners

They have potential with alittle more horsepower, and a 6 speed auto, rather than the five. That would address the torque, fuel milage, and longevity concerns. Other than that, at their price point, they are very competitive. Davekc owner 21 years PantherII EO moderator

    landstar

One of their best advantages is that they let you obtain your own frieght. If their agents don't keep you loaded consistently, I would seek out some of my own business. If one is sitting, you would think there is plenty of time? I will admit, it would be much tougher to work with a van. If you...

Are you as slow in this business as we are

Very busy. Only slowing down to reset hours. We have noticed a increase in the load dimensions. Instead of a couple of skids, it seems like they are 4 and 5. Pretty much the same weight. Davekc owner 21 years PantherII EO moderator

    Apportioned Plate Questions..

It won't be $24,000 I don't know the exact cost on Michigan, but you need an IRP registration from Michigan. A state license bereau or Michigan state dot will have information. This link will get you started and provides numbers to get you started...

Any one missing a P2 truck?

On a positive note, I feel confident they will address the issue in the appropriate manner. I also applaud Panther for having a member of management come on the forum to review and respond to the members. Many times issues don't get the attention they deserve, but that is clearly not the case...

    Lease purchase

With a son at home, I would have to make that the priority. I would scrap this plan and do something else. Paying a full time nanny to do this doesn't make sense either. I would really think you have some other options available to you, other than this. This lease plan has disaster written all...

Any one missing a P2 truck?

Fastman That is what I thought until one of the posts said it went to another truck. It would make you wonder how long that contract was terminated? As for fedex, you are correct, I don't think they reuse numbers...but I don't know that for sure. Davekc owner 21 years PantherII EO moderator

    25/25 Guideline?

Alot would depend on whether the truck is new or used and what reserves one has after they start. A new truck depreciates more than 25 percent after one year of service. I would keep the payments below that 25 percent margin....especially in todays economy. Paying cash is always the best option...

Any one missing a P2 truck?

He (whoever Tom is) should have investigated the call further. When the truck number was called in, it likely corrosponded to another vehicle that was not in that location. The truck in question was not in his database as that vehicle because he parted ways with company. Who knows what kind of...

    eaton fuller 9 speed

As Wallytrucker said, it is knowing at what RPM's to shift at. Once you are used to it, you won't use the clutch at all except for starting and stopping. They aren't too bad after alittle practice. I am lazy though, and much prefer a automatic. Davekc owner 21 years PantherII EO moderator
