    So much for the strike!

Yes that is true but they also have a much larger fleet than most. Panther is not providing the same services as Landstar, FedEx is also not providing the same, FedEx and Landstar provide different across the board solutions where panther can't. Just because they have brokers, does not mean they...

Danny I contend that hiding things is different than taking advantage of our system, for example former president Clinton has an off shore company, he is not hiding anything but removing his taxable income so not to pay taxes. Oil companies, like Pharma companies shelter money in order to save...

    So much for the strike!

FedEx and Landstar are service providers for many industries, just like JB hunt and other trucking companies are. They make money with fleets more than they do with brokerage.

no wonder businesses are in trouble

Nothing new there. I got a story about another CEO who is was in charge of a children's company and it is pretty disgusting. I can't post it, I wish I could but I can't. There is something about power and money that many lose control to easily. Not too many people know how to handle fame or...

    New Harvard Study On Iraq

Leaving while a fight is going on is weakness, that is how they see it. We invaded, yes, we gave them a new government, yes but we failed in being strong while we are there, we failed to close the borders or shut down the cities. We failed to show strength and continue to show strength. The...

    New Harvard Study On Iraq

Actually they have been fighting themselves for something like 1200 years, not 2000. Well they, the Iraqis know that we have to stay there to allow them build their country. many of the people who are ignorant of the situation don't even get the culture, let alone what is going on there. Many...

Well guys when you look at large corporations, they do have higher profit margins. Pfizer's 33% profit margin was discussed as excessive and I think it was, even at 17% it still is. The same goes for the auto companies, but there is a slightly different way they do their numbers because 1)...

No No No, 9% is what they said they make, not me. I found it in the AP article I read last night. 9% yep.... Just for the record, I was sitting at Merke's stockholder meeting a bunch of years ago (went for the free lunch and dinner) and the CEO was talking about their profit margin, 27%, I spit...

    Engine Fan Problem

I agree with Dave, but it sounds like the same thing I had to deal with, a bad temp sending unit.

    Engine Fan Problem

Well that is one solution but I don't know. My fan kicks on and it is off in less than three minutes. It seems to come on when I am going up an on ramp, or on a hill waiting for a light or basically the worst time to take HP aways from me. Oh also it really does not take that much away from...

    Engine Fan Problem

This is programmed in the ECM, there are a few things that are measured on the engine and then if they meet the ECM's criteria, the fan kicks on. Happens to me all the time.

What do you expect to be done? um..... The oil execs were right on the money by telling the house committee that the government is at fault for the high prices, not them. You know that they make 9% profit on everything they sell, Exxon paid more in income taxes than they made and that does not...

    60/40 revisited?

Fedex and Landstar both has adjusted the FSC rates going to the O/O. I know that they base it on the size of the truck and the mileage which I think it should be the same for all, is that what you are saying - equal application for the FSC program? Let me clarify that just a bit, What I think...

    60/40 revisited?

I am trying to figure this out, inflation rate? do you mean the fuel price that changes; daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly? I find there is a need to figure out company FSC's weekly, I assume a few don't. I know mine does and I seem to be happy with it.

I wouldn't take that personal, it does not matter really when you think about it. You are free to say what you want, but like I pointed out, when you do it on foreign soil, it is a different matter.

    Pets- Cranberry Coast Cats

You saw the great dane too? I thought I was dreaming. Here he gets this dog out of the cab and starts walking him around, amazing. Actually great danes make great apartment or small space dogs and don't need all the excersize people think.

Tax Free Fuel NY Indian Reservation

You could say that about Detroit lately. My God, we have the mayor of Detroit who was sued by former cops who were fired for doing their job investigating a wild party at the Mayor's crib, the Manoogian Mansion, the Mayor lost the case and settled out of court because the cops legal team showed...
