    Mattress Suggestion

If you get a Memory Foam topper, it can be cut to fit with regular scissors. :)

    company negativity

I wonder if the drivers who complain about getting "only 2100 miles a week", or the " worse half" of a switch, or another driver getting out ahead of them from the truckstop, realize how much they sound like 4 year olds, complaining that they got a smaller half of the cookie! Other drivers are...

    REALLY MIFFED POLICE CHIEF

It should be required viewing for everyone in America! I, for one, am sick of the way the guilty party's family immediately files a suit against the police, and is usually aided & abetted by "civil rights" groups in their effort to blame law enforcement for harming their precious gangster. I...

    What about a rating?

I'm going to hijack this thread now, but y'all were pretty much done with it anyway, right? :P Letzrock's sigline is truly apropos on the Tristate tollway in Chicago: the man who put the (broken) white lines on that highway had either an equipment malf or a serious disorder goin on - not one...

    Escort vehicles

Colonel, I mentioned "getting on my nerves" because BBB said that they sometimes do. And if I require a blinking light to point out that something's happening ahead, I'm not paying attention, and probably ought to get off the road till I can. Is it your goal here on EO to make people wish...

    Truck Stop Internet Connections (TSIC)

Greg, I did the truck stop internet at first, but then found what was Freedomlink, & is now ATT Wifi. I paid $20 per month for unlimited access, at places like McDonald's, UPS Stores, Barnes & Noble Bookstores, and the best part is the phone number you can call 24/7/365, where a person will tell...

    g-p-s

Good point, Terry - we have a Metroparks Drive here in Northeast Ohio that also forbids commercial vehicles, & I've had to give up some of my favorite shortcuts, and the pleasure of driving through the lovely, leafy shade in the summer, & leafpeeping in the fall.:-(

    Willie Nelson

And the driver lost his commercial license...What I thought was funny, though, was that the amount would have been a felony, had it belonged to one person, which apparently the partiers knew, because they all claimed some of it was theirs, lol. Just can't imagine a scene where 5 people are...

    Talk Like A Pirate Day

    > >I thought it was odd that ABC had Wife Swap with a Prirate >family last night. Considering the flap over Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction, I'd think it odd that any tv station would have a "wife swap" with anyone - what's this country coming to, anyway?!

When is the nightmare going to end?

Greg, you've totally lost me on this one - what's the problem with that? It sounds like fun, even if the Do-Not_Call list means I won't get to hold him to the phone when soliciters call...:)

    Escort vehicles

Thanks for the info-they've never "gotten on my nerves", I was just wondering. And I know BBB is right: surprising any driver is bad, and surprising a t/t driver is really bad, but surprising an oversize load driver is really, really bad! I imagine they're darn near blind, with the mirrors...

    Just Give us OUR RATE

    > >As far as everybody saying lay off the dispatchers there >underpaid and have a tough job, and get yelled at by drivers >for 8 straight hours.... It comes with the territory just >like us drivers if you dont like your job or employer then >you have the option to move on. > Pantherii: I...

    bunk beds

Jeez, I thought my 28" bunk was ok, till I read how much room everyone else has, lol - now I feel crowded. I'll probably get claustrophobic, even, having to sleep in such a tiny space! :+ Seriously, though, one way to make the bunk a good place to sleep, is to invest in the best quality bedding...

    Escort vehicles

Ok, that makes sense - I just couldn't figure out why the vehicle with the height pole was so far behind, lol. :7

    Escort vehicles

Can someone explain, please, what the purpose of an escort vehicle is, for an oversized load? I keep seeing them driving so far behind the load that they don't seem to be much use - what are they supposed to be doing?

Info on requirements of a DOT approved sleeper

Dan, I can't answer the question, but the first person I'd ask, is one who advertises their work as "DOT legal", - not that I'd trust the reply, I'd just want to hear it, lol. I'd bet someone on here can find the right answer, though :)

    Looking into Expediting

Scott, I'd say the proper forum for your question would be "Ask the recruiter", because there's no sense doing anything to your van, if you don't know whether any carrier is taking on vans, or whether they would accept yours, if they are. You'd probably do best to check with the many carriers...

Response to Threads by Panther Staff

Jeff, I too, thank you for your input. I'm a former ConWay O/O, & I have some questions that really don't require an immediate reply, so I'd rather not call & tie up a dispatcher, (all of whom, BTW, have tried to be helpful in a situation that's tough on all of us who didn't expect it.) Is...
