never in my 5 years would I have dreamed of sleeping next to her...LOL..... Well, you sure got my attention with THAT one! But I looked, and it's just the dog there, as usual. So I guess I will borrow a line from a famous hotel chain, Cheri I will leave the light on for you...... And I'll...

I'm sitting at the TA in Seville, and Mr Snappy is next door, making the place look better with his cool truck. I bet I could read by the lights on it, lol It's beeeautiful! PS He's a really nice guy, too - didn't even get upset at me for asking whether his username was Mr Snappy or Mrs Nappy...

    EO 10 year's

Lawrence: hope you're catching the hints on EO merchandise - I'm seeing a real demand for it here (especially the clingy vinyl window stickers!) :D

This cold long neck sure hits the spot... You know, I don't whine about slow weeks, favoritism in dispatch, greedy carriers, etc - but that comment just aint FAIR! :D

    Another GPS Question

Flattop: have you ever used a standalone GPS such as Garmin? If you search the archives, there is some very pertinent info on why its' screen size is superior to the laptop. I started with S&T on the laptop, and would never go back after getting a Garmin.

    This BS HAS to Stop!!

The Zen Bank announced a "no frills" policy, and the Suzuki Bank is just running on fumes.

Sorry! How about this one instead: "It's been the worst day since yesterday" (Flogging Molly) :p

    Two Questions (Could be controversial)

No, Nadal, YOU miss the point: if you buy a car and "see it's a fake", you have a written contract to protect you from fraud. The written contract is the same in expediting: nothing that isn't included can be assumed to be part of the deal, no matter what the recruiter (or anyone else) says.

    Two Questions (Could be controversial)

Hey, I agree - but we don't get to write the contracts. We get to choose between accepting them as written, or doing without a contract by getting our own authority. Much in life isn't 'fair', methinks, and we just do the best we can with what it is instead.

Morals, religion, and accepting certain loads

My guess is it would depend on whether the contents were visible, and what was listed on the BOL. I recall being asked what I was hauling by a Customs officer at the Canadian border. My response (the BOL listed only part numbers) was "I don't know" (Yes, I should have said "Auto parts", duh!)...

    Two Questions (Could be controversial)

Sorry Nadal, but if you buy the "big promises" of any company that are NOT written in your contract, you need a reality check. They don't promise in writing any specific number of miles, do they? IF IT ISN'T IN WRITING, IT DOESN'T COUNT. Not an easy lesson, but worthwhile to keep in mind, always.

    Another GPS Question

You have no idea. For some reason my brain stores worthless knowledge in chisseled-in-stone triplicate, while storing actual knowledge on scraps of synaptic thermal ink receipts. I think mine does that, too. I hear some stupid forgettable song like "Our day will come" and my brain announces...

Morals, religion, and accepting certain loads

You're welcome. PS If I were paid to decide what's offensive, having a female silhouette on the truck would be grounds for arrest....;)

Morals, religion, and accepting certain loads

I am contracted to haul freight, not to make a moral judgment on the contents, so the answer is yes, I'd take it without reservation. I can (and do) refrain from buying material that I find offensive, but it's not a parameter I'd include when accepting or refusing a load.

    How picky are vans?

Have to agree that a driver who accepts a load offer, then refuses same load (within reasonable timeframe) without an airtight good reason is a driver who simply doesn't wanna, and needs a 'reality check'. My last load to Fla delivered near Orlando, and after 3 days wait (my daughter lives in...

    EO 10 year's

Reckless use of a homophone: 'hear' rather than 'here'. Insufficient evidence of malice aforesaid (intent to entrap Grammar Nazis). Sentence limited to time served for very good behavior. ;) PS I just stumbled onto EO too, probably while I was trying to do something entirely different, because...

    Another GPS Question

Do a search for the threads discussing GPS units - there have been several. Far as I know, an accurate unit with truck routing hasn't been made yet. :( My Garmin Nuvi 350 works fine for me, but it's a personal preference thing, mostly.

Unless they've run out, EO has bumperstickers, like the one featured under Dreamer's neat little zippy van on his sigline. Bumperstickers are available wherever EO has an official presence, like the Expediters Expo in July, and their office in Florence. Not sure about the seminars - Lawrence...

The Good Times Thread.. or What are you thankful for?

I'm thankful for: The good health & physical ability to do the work required. The mental acuity to learn (and keep learning as I go). The family that supports me emotionally, even though they don't understand why I don't just "get a 'real' job". The whole EO community, for knowledge, friendship...
