    Question for TCall

You have a lot of cahones stating Bush never makes his own decisions, when Clintons own advisors have said over and over HIS decisions were based on POLLS! It's clear how you lean, and it doesn't matter what they do in your party, you'll still support them. Some of us, however, have snubbed the...

    ENRON

Like my dad says... how many steaks do they want for dinner? It's human nature to separate ppl from what they have, whether it's by stealing or selling or scamming. The more you control what they own, the more power you hold over their lives. He who buys need one hundred eyes. But one's enough...

Tallcal... how exactly did Bubba put money in our pockets? Enlighten me, please.

    Only in California...

Come on, Greg. You know laws are written, or not written, because special interests make their voices heard. Amnesty for illegals is opposed by 70% of the ppl, yet the senate is STILL ignoring that fact. Hopefully, the house will still dessent. I see the house as being the only voice that...

    Only in California...

I love hearing this take on Bush's approval rating. I don't like the man, his policies, his staff, his ideology, his business ties, the result of those ties, his party (YES, HIS PARTY!), or his grammar! But I have yet to see a bumper sticker saying "Impeach Bush, and her husband too!" ROFLMAO...

    stupid dispatched deadhead runs

That's a good question. What companies besides Panther and Landstar let you find your own runs without taking a huge chunk? I find it interesting when I bring up that we found a load to the dispatchers, that we get 20 questions. I mentioned the fact to them that we left Houston (which was...

    looking for some answers/opinions

Snow... Maybe you should've started another thread with this question. If you post a classified looking for an E team, you should eventually get replies. Renew it once a week or so. Straight up tho... Finding t/t teams in expediting are hard, IMO. Seems that most come from the OTR mentality, and...

Diesel price versus cost, or whose $20 is that?

RE: Diesel price versus cost, or whose $20 is that Leo, you missed what I was saying tho. Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and I think Michigan don't charge all of their taxes when you buy the fuel. Rather, they wait until the end of the quarter then charge you the rest if what you owe. For example...

The Cost of Fuel is getting Crazy

    > The cost of fuel is not crazy! It is less than in 1958 >when I graduated HS, Just adjust it for inflation. Over seas >the "high cost" is really taxes just like Canada, only >worse. In addition some countrys tax each HP or in Japan, >the square footage of road the car occupies. > In...

Diesel price versus cost, or whose $20 is that?

RE: Diesel price versus cost, or whose $20 is that This is a good post, Leo. I tried in the other post to explain it in a few words, but didn't do a good job, I guess. GA was one of them I said to stay away from. IN and OH are two more. I was surprised at how economical it is to buy in PA...

Do they have summer up there? ;-) I remember a few years ago they got up to 90 in Pt.Barrow (most northern point in AK).

The Cost of Fuel is getting Crazy

Leo... got a theory for you. Do the big oil companies pay futures prices for their oil? My assumption is that they don't, yet can use that price as a write-off; therefore, not counting that towards profits. They drill for a good chunk of their oil, so the futures price is moot to them. As far...

    Fuel taxes added by states

From the current tax standpoint, NC and PA aren't terrible for their price to tax ratio, as compared to surrounding states. GA, IN, and OH, on the other hand, are states to stay away from... high prices and low tax.

    DC

When we get to DC, we head to the J in Northeast, MD. Then we're right between Baltimore and Phili. If you don't want to dh quite so far, there's a small truckstop in Millersville, MD. It's about half way between Baltimore and Annapolis, but it's a lot quieter than the TA in Baltimore.

Did you noticed America was shut down today?

There's a difference between the ex-patriots in Cuba and illegals from Mexico. The Florida Cubans are awaiting the day Castro dies, and hoping democracy becomes the norm there. At that time, we can probably expect a mass exodus of these ex-patriots back to their homeland. I support their waving...

    Fuel Islands Warning Signs.

They can have signs all over the place. But unless there's a conscious effort on their part to make the place reasonably safe, their signs don't mean squat. That's like saying I could put a sign out in front of my house saying "Caution: Ice", then leave it up without ever cleaning my sidewalk...

    mileage on used trucks

100,000/year miles is decent for a used truck. Brand of truck depends on what kind of unit you want. Tractor, you'll hear all different answers. Straight trucks, I tend toward Kenworth, but I'd get a FL if the price is right.

    P2 What is going on?

Simon... refusing has its place. More often than not, I've seen the ones who take everything going out of biz. Perfect example as to what I'm talking about: Took a load to NJ del Sat, got out Monday. Went to GA, loaded right back out to Harrisburg, PA. Sat for two days with the east coast...
