But Streak, what happened to the cabbie who shut down in the middle of the GW? NYC is never boring, lol.

It's time to play..WHO'S IN THAT TRUCK?!

I once dated a truck driver, who, when I asked him to teach me to drive the truck, patted me on my lil head & said "But darlin, no one would hire you." He was wrong about a few other things, too. ;)

    Attention all Single Women.....

Well, SOMEBODY always does win the big one, yes? :D Congratulations to both you and Jenny!:)

    Attention all Single Women.....

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, TJ, but I really think the odds of finding a soulmate while on the road are approximately the same as winning the big lottery jackpot. You just don't get to spend enough time with anyone for a relationship to develop, unless it's online & by phone, but then...

    eletronic device debate

So no one in any moving vehicle could text? Not gonna happen, nor should it, IMO. The specific types of distractions are endless, and banning each as it arises won't solve the basic problem. I'd vote for banning most billboards, though. ;)

    eletronic device debate

OK, toys are banned - but what about kids in the backseat, and passengers? The radio, and CD [or cassette] player? And how about those billboards, too? The root problem is driving while distracted. The solution lies in education of ALL drivers on the need to focus attention on one's driving. PS...

    Mafia Wars/Farmville

I'm hooked on Mafia Wars- it's very therapeutic to attack other mafias, rob banks, etc :D PM me if you want to join my Mafia [the only game I play, cos one time consuming internet addiction is enough for me].:)

A QUESTION or view on other drivers

Satellites can be really accurate, or they can be really off - depends on different factors [sunspots?] Bluejaybee: you're a Scorpio, aren't you? Scorpios are the BEST at getting 'even'. Any more good ideas? :D

Amazing color photos of early 20th century Russia

Wow! Aside from the fact that they could serve as illustrations for the book I'm reading ['Riding the Iron Rooster' by Paul Theroux] about a long train trip through Russia, the photos are just amazing. Thanks for the link. :)

    Truckstop showers

Excellent point: our immune systems can't create antibodies to germs we're not exposed to, and who wants to live in a bubble, anyway? [My sister - she was horrified to see me open a can without washing the top first, gasp!] But - MRSA is a nasty bug, and the sad fact is that the most likely...

    Truckstop showers

Another frequent cause of MRSA [renamed 'multidrug resistant staphaureus, I notice - much more apt] is the 'road rash' pursuant to a spill from a bike. Perhaps Harley Davidson should promote it's own MootSuit? :D

A QUESTION or view on other drivers

Drivers who park in the fuel lanes are truly inconsiderate. Sometimes, I can scootch my truck out at an angle, using the next lane - but if I'm stuck, and the truck blocking me doesn't move, I will ask the fuel desk to page them to move their truck.

    What would you do?????????

We all know that my sense of humor is a bit warped, so I'm still LMAO after reading Wingnut's statement about the drivers who were arrested for smoking weed when the drug dogs arrived. Though maybe it's because a long time ago [so long ago that the world was still in black & white], I...

Thank you Espar of MI and EO

Jeanie and Dingle are good people [I know Dingle's a cat, but don't think he does, lol] and they deserve the good stuff - glad to hear they're getting some. :)

    Truckstop showers

I try to refrain from correcting typos and/or misspellings, but I think this time it matters: the "mecca staff" infection is almost certainly MRSA [for methycillen resistant staph aureus], and it is nasty, indeed. Resistant to every antibiotic except intravenous Vancomycin [and not always that...

do u think past owner messed my driving report up

All you can do now is get a copy of your DAC report, and see what's on it. No matter what the provocation, refusal to return a truck to it's owner could cause you serious trouble - as in being charged with grand theft. I'm not sure how to contest [or explain] any negative info on the DAC, but...

    Microsoft Streets and Trips?

When I need to write directions, I like the idea I 'borrowed' after seeing Morningstar do it: write it on the window with a dry erase pen - it's easily removed. Especially if you forget and roll down the window!

    What would you do?????????

Steve: if you found a joint in the truck, wouldn't that be enough for Safety to request a drug test for reasonable suspicion? I mean, if that isn't reasonable suspicion, what is?!

do u think past owner messed my driving report up

A few questions come to mind: did you have a written contract with the owner? If so, what did it say about returning the truck? And why are you worrying about it now - 2 years later?
