    Kudos to Michelin

That wouldn't be the case by everything I have been told and read. The airflow under the truck still moves the air through the bottom of the truck which is not stagnate under the truck and a lot of the heat generated by the engine is transferred by the time it hits the end of the transmission...

    Kudos to Michelin

Actually OVM, there is a straight skirted and on the road. It's a class 8, using the original skirts on the truck and extending them to the tool boxes then to the drives. It is a 24 ft box and it is a nice looking job. The skirts are fiberglass sheets with a metal frame. Freightliner guys...

Less Than a Buck to laredo

Dave, I'm wondering if you take a cross section of FedEx trucks and average their rates for the past 6 month whether you will see a decrease in their base rate? I think you will, I also think that there are small groups that won't see a decrease for a number of reasons. How about keeping...

FSC-Why don't companies pay 100% of it to us?

So leo, you like math, what's you adjusted FSC? I mean if you are getting 10% better MPG and you are paying less for gas, what are you actually making?

I couldn't think of the name, thanks - highway watch. It seems odd though, OOIDA and other organization didn't get behind Highway Watch? I think that we need more of a solid program that isn't dependent on budgets or the whims of some bureaucrats and more or less integrated into the...

What kind of generator do I need to run a 13000 btu air conditioner?

A lot of the issues come from when the door opens. I saw one that the owner had four plates made out of aluminum shaped to the contour of the body, mounted the plate both on the inside and outside of the body just beyond the door. He used large steel hinges welded plate and to the frame that...

So what happened to that trucking DHS program which came after 9/11? Didn't it die with the 2010 budget, and no one seemed to care? Why another one? Didn't the first one work out? What is the difference?

FSC-Why don't companies pay 100% of it to us?

John, My question is why wouldn't a company charge a FSC in the first place?

What kind of generator do I need to run a 13000 btu air conditioner?

The only problem I see with the rear door thing is the hinges may wear out. Grease them a lot.

barry sayes, "I won’t secure border"

It's a form of slavery when you come down to it. Turtle, don't we have a de facto invasion by the Mexican government at this point which may be considered an act of war? They support people crossing the border, they support human trafficking, they assist people in their journey and then don't...

    Haz Mat endorsement needed ?

Turtle, Although you are right, I hauled crates (3000 lbs) of these things for two companies and both companies said they were not HM while on the truck. I recommend calling the company you work for and ask them.

Less Than a Buck to laredo

Leo, I never said that the dispatcher was scheming but there is a lot of issues surrounding the needs to protect the brand. By the way, if it was hectic and stressful, they would have a very high turnover which they don't. It isn't as bad as you make it out to be compared to other industries...

Less Than a Buck to laredo

Steve, the numbers are actual, the revenue share is 62% and it was something that could go on a van or a C/D/E unit. I can't tell you what it was or who the customer is but this has happened a few times. I changed the places around a bit but the distance traveled was almost the same. Leo, I...

But Dave ... that's not true, it doesn't happen ... never does ... :p Let's see ... An air cargo load from Groton to Carson City. The charges to the customer was not discounted nor was it negotiated but FedEx stated the rate and that was it. The customer accepted it and FedEx had Freight...

FSC-Why don't companies pay 100% of it to us?

Oh Mine? Well crap Guido, if that was the case then my numbers would be off but they are spot on within the limits of where I end up at. Meaning that if they quote the shipment from Tennessee to New Jersey, they pay me TN FSC, not east coast stuff - that's the thing that bothers me.

Brokers Say Truckload Rates Rising Fast

Dakota ... never mind ... don't you have some work to do? OVM No I don't test sleepers. I have repaired a bunch of them, going to do one while I am home in July but not test them. I enjoy what I do, you should try it. I get to have some fun while trashing things so others can make a decision...

    "Touchdown Jesus" Burns....

Dale, I find a lot of Christians remove the meaning of Christ from their everyday lives. It is like they want the non-believers to bow down to them because they are the enlighten ones but fail to understand the works, meaning and teachings. Very narrow minded people. I applaud you for this...
