    Quit Question

Good catch, Jenny. It matters not if the owner qualifies a driver, or the carrier does - if the insurance doesn't, there will be serious problems in the event of an accident. Even a minor fender bender would be big trouble for the owner and the carrier, if the driver wasn't qualified by the...

    tricking the qc

Something like that - but tailored for my own needs, including miles [dh & load], pay, times in & out at both ends, and time scanned, too. Each week's pros are paper clipped & dropped into the pocket of the month in a 12 pocket organizer, so I can find any of them in a flash, if need be. Now, if...

How many have EXPEDITE trucks have you owned over the years?

I've owned all I'm ever going to: one. :)

    Scaling

Mj: even a national standard won't tell you whether the scales are open. I think you're giving scales too much importance - they're not a big deal, even for those of us who pull in every time they're open. And don't forget that MC Enforcement has roving agents, too - you can be pulled over for...

Ron Paul goes after the Lizard

If it isn't Paul, Obama will be reelected. Not because he is that good, but because the opposition is that bad. Enough [actually, way too much] of the SOS 'leadership' that has led us to the brink of disaster in several directions at once, we need someone who has that quality of leadership...

    Scaling

You shouldn't need to be concerned about anything, but as Moot said: who knows? Roll the windows down & quiet the radio so you can hear any instructions, and watch the signs and/or lights. If the LEO should ask for anything, you just provide whatever it is very politely and you'll be out of...

Next step for banned handheld cellphone use... Tattletale.

I'd be willing to bet that neither Ray LaHood nor anyone with enough juice at FMCSA or DOT to affect passage of regulations actually drives at all, unless they feel like it. Very Important People have staff to take care of the petty details & drudgery so the Very Important Time isn't wasted...

is it a christmas tree or a holiday tree??

It's a Christmas tree, and always will be, no matter what your religion or lack thereof. [Unless it's at Moot's house, where it's a wheel chock with ornaments, lights, & tinsel.] Seriously, people who are offended by the very word Christmas are just nuts, because it means different things to...

    Headsup To A New Scam......

Since the cashback option is my favorite way to avoid ATMs, I know the scanner [for your card, not groceries] asks first if you want cash, making you select either 'no' or an amount. If you're surprised to find cash back on the receipt later, I don't think the cashier is the problem.....:D

Are you Democrat, Republican or Southener

I'm really BAD at martial arts - got a yellow belt and then quit. I can, however, hit what I aim at with a handgun. The reference was one I thought all you guys would get: a recent shoplifter escaped from a big box store, only to be tackled by one of the 4 Marines collecting toys at the door...

I'd rather be the woman explaining that he must have tripped over the curb. ;)

Black Friday - Time to stop the maddness

Without defending the idiots who cannot behave in a civil fashion, why do retailers continue to set the stage for mad stampedes by having far less of the merchandise than anticipated demand, thereby guaranteeing a mob of people pushing & shoving [and trampling!] to get in front? Materialism is...

    Waterboarding is torture says McCain

My parents liked it a lot too, and after the first few repetitions, didn't have to accompany it with a 'spanking', either. But in a duel of the quotes, I gotta go with Einstein, because anyone who looks like that has to be pretty confident to speak in public. ;)

New York Times - Trucking Solutions Group

You have good reason to be proud, of your own efforts as well as the group's. As everyone knows, trucking is a lifestyle that promotes obesity: long sedentary hours, too much 'brown food' [deep fried], too little nutrition, not enough attention paid to food preparation onboard, drivers who are...
