    Get ready for the shakedown!!!

Kristi: last year, I lost 2 plates from the rear of the truck. The first was in El Paso, I thought it was stolen, had to sit & wait for a new plate to be overnighted. The second time, I realized that the SC plates aren't strong enough to withstand the wind force when they're hanging unsupported...

I Have Always Loved Cucumbers, this just adds to it!!

I like cucumber slices on my ham sammiches. Ants will not cross a barrier of cucumber peel. Good to know if you catch them sneaking in your place, or just get bored and want to watch them detour like a drunk around a sobriety check. :p

The Future (End) of Truck Driving is Closer Than You Think

I miss Piper. That's not a non sequiter, in case you weren't paying attention - one of Piper's best avatars was Beaker from the Muppets, which I used to watch with my kids. Beaker was my favorite. :( Piper was pretty cool, too.

    "LATE" delivery?

I came close to being late for a pickup recently too, and for the dumbest reason ever, lol. I got a new Garmin, and forgot that it displayed time in Central [I bought it in Iowa] instead of the Eastern I'm used to. I fixed it now.

    Cherries are in season!

Cool! I figured there's a trick, like keeping strawberries safe by 'salting' them with red marbles [birds don't peck them twice, lol] I just never found it. BTW, I don't have the trees anymore, I've baked my last pie from cherries I picked myself. I was just curious - but someone else may be...

    Cookout at the Expo

One of the biggest needs is for shade - it's usually sweltering in late July. The 'awning' cover provided last year was great, but if attendance increases as it has been, it would be nice to have another. The fans were a big help, too - thanks, John Elliot!

    What in the colors....

Mbc: when you get to the Expo, check out Gotta go's truck - it's white, [what isn't painted purple, or decalled, lol] but it's quite distinctive. So is Susie's [large decals of the flag showing through illusions of rips on both sides of the box], ATeam's [stars & stripes graphics on the...

Would NYC's Ban on Big Sodas Reduce Obesity?

Another waste of taxpayer money that benefits only the politicians who can cite the 'laws passed to [insert desirable goal here]' yadda yadda yadda... Obesity [esp childhood] needs to be reduced [sorry!] but this is the worst way to go about it. Education and incentives for healthier...

    Cherries are in season!

India, good to see you back! I'm wondering how the growers ever get enough cherries picked to sell - I used to have 2 cherry trees, 1 dark sweet & the other bright red tart ones, side by side. Every year, the birds ate every last sweet cherry [they have a slight advantage over people, when it...

    Excellent source for truck parts

I like that you can look for parts by description - but I tried 'thingamabob' and nobody has any. ;)
