I thought they were able to ask for something visible. It may be that they're able to ASK for the card; but you're not obligated to give it to them. I had this conversation with Highway tonight. My opinion was to tell the LEO to get a warrant while I call OOIDA. Highway stated it would screw up...

The same could be said of vans, and their owners being not up to the task of driving a straight, due to their not wanting to log, etc. Some people just don't want the expense/work involved with owning their own truck. At times, I agree with them.

I have to empathize with that driver. My nephew and I waited at a shipper for three hours, knowing full well we would not be loaded after one. PANTHER kept us hanging, and then only paid us regular dry run pay after 150 miles of dh. Not to mention it screwed up the weekend for any long runs...

Absolutely! Truckers are the same way. We are responsible for 1/4 of all truck/car accidents; but the scapegoat factor raises that much higher. We're more visible... just like the cell phones.
