Wisc Teachers Required to Teach the History...

I understand that the gov can fire them. I know he can hold back funding to the districts. BUT you have to wonder what is important to the teachers, it surely isn't the students and I would not want any of them teaching my kids for any reason.

    Libertarianism

So layout, I'm going to yank your chain here - I think you fall more into the libertarian/classic liberal than you do conservative. AM I right?

    Libertarianism

That was the old guard of Dole/O'Neal type of politician, they were replaced by what I consider the old guard of the party now. Sorry but thats no where near the truth. Congress didn't act at all because it wasn't a politically good move to expose themselves to the public, it wasn't just about...

6 killed as Iraqis protest in 'Day of Rage'

6? Seriously? I remember not long ago the numbers were 24, 42, 67 and 12.

Wisc Teachers Required to Teach the History...

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough - FIRE all the teachers in the entire public school system and make all of the go through the process of being rehired.

Actually I think they should fire all of them and have them reapply for their jobs.

Well there are estimates from different sources that give that number anywhere from 2.5 to 10 million. I would think that with an overall population of southeast Michigan still having the largest population outside of the middle east, and taking in account the number of African Muslims in...

Did the US and capitalism save Egypt?

I was listening to NPR this morning on the way back home and then turned on the BBC. Both had an interesting take on what happened in Egypt, well more or less what didn't happen in Egypt and why. The reporters interviewed some Egyption 'experts' who explained why the country didn't have the...

Apologize NOT accepted YOU didn't do a thing wrong to me or said anything that offended me so there is absolutely nothing to apologize for - period.

    Libertarianism

I don't see it, with Steele and now the new guy running the GOP, the leadership within the ranks is murky at best. Most of the GOP is still running with the old gaurd who for much of the '94-'06 majority in congress did less other than compromise with the minority. If you looked at the number...

    Oil price

But Jeff you seem to forget that taxes make up a large amount of that fuel price and there are hidden taxes involved, so it may be about 66 cents a gallon if everything is removed and it is adjusted to the market price.

    Libertarianism

But there isn't a lack of leadership in the GOP, it is a lack of uniformed leadership and a lack of promoting leadership qualities. For the same reason that there is no impeachment, there is no leadership in either party we can actually look at and say this is someone who may help. The media may...

    Oil price

It would be nice to get rid of all the vans too ... they compete with the small straight trucks. Actually it is tied to the dollar, it is traded in dollars, not ounces of gold.

    Libertarianism

AND? I don't see the desperation to attach anything to anyone, on the contrary, I see the conservatives being reactive in a threat that they are "being taken over" by another party - one of the biggest issues from the mainstream conservative movement on the subject of Ron Paul. Well I don't...

    Hard Times eh...

Yea and? I think with the big push last year to move stuff, almost every carrier made money, more than 2009. BUT still they are small in revenue compared to others. Didn't FedEx spend $158M on internal improvements like espresso coffee machines for most of their locations, massage chairs...

    Oil price

Yep ... I sure do ... thanks to the up and coming weather, the truck is loaded for three stops and I will have them done before dawn with my pay sitting for me when I return. Don't you love the free market and speculating on freight?

    Oil price

If you want to control speculation, then we need to also have price controls on other things like expediter rates. Vans at 77 cents a mile with a 10 cent FSC, straight trucks at a $1.25 with a 20 cent FSC.
