    "Moving day"???

Judging by the divorce rate [not to mention the numbers of infidelity, whether known or un], the institution of marriage isn't in real great shape to begin with. But I don't see where any two people who wish to make the commitment are a threat to marriage - more like 'imitation is the sincerest...

    "Moving day"???

Of all the arguments/rationales for or against, "because we've always done it this way" ought to be the least powerful. Because millions of people can be [and have been] wrong. Many times, in fact. And very often because their religious leaders insist upon it.

Can anyone give me the 411 on Heavy Weight Enterprises-Fleet Owner with Panther?

Have you asked for contact info for current [and former] drivers for Heavyweight? Because that's who I'd want the skinny from, and if the response is the evasive shuffle, that tells you something as well. Oh - welcome to EO, and best of luck in your second career. :)

    "Moving day"???

I never said I would move to Canada if Romney won, but I did say I'd consider it - the man worried me THAT much. He would cut taxes on business [hasn't worked before, ever], cut aid to the working poor [I don't like kids going hungry], defund Planned Parenthood [lots more babies for poverty...

Thought politics couldn't get any crazier?

Oh good - I was rooting for the Orc [Lachowicz]. :o

Driver Made To Wear Idiot Sign As Punishment

Loooove it! I'm wondering if it's the same judge [because it's local news for me] who sentenced a jerk who blasted the whole neighborhood with loud 'music' to spend time sitting in total silence. I thought a more fitting punishment would be listening to classical or opera, but I applaud the...

    If Obama wins, then what?

I never will - because patriotism isn't claiming your country is the best, it's doing what you can to make it the best. I think we all want that.

    If Obama wins, then what?

You seem very sure you know what Obama will do - if you're wrong, [he doesn't suspend the Constitution] will you admit you don't know, and stop telling us what he WILL do? Disclaimer: I have no earthly idea what Obama [or any other politician WILL do] either!

Romney held in disdain in his home state

The corporations putting their names on megabuck venues just happen to be the ones we pretty much have to deal with, though: banks and cellphone carriers. I can quit BoA and Verizon, but where'm I gonna go [needing national coverage] except Sprint & 5th3rd? [And isn't that a brilliant name?!] I...

Romney held in disdain in his home state

Dave: I'm at a loss to see why there's a need to attract business to invest and expand - isn't that what they exist to do? And isn't the profit they make in doing it enough? Because it was until the past decade or so, wasn't it? They say their taxes are too high. I say their profit expectations...

Even Carriers are having a hard time filling jobs.

I don't gots a CB, so I don't know from CB chatter - nor do I know what the reason for the turnover problem is, which is why I phrased it as a question. I do believe it would have been reduced already if the carriers wanted it, though.

Even Carriers are having a hard time filling jobs.

You assume they truly want to reduce turnover significantly - maybe they don't. Because if they really truly wanted to, they'd have done it already, IMO. Maybe the tax benefits of recruiting are much better than retention?

Romney held in disdain in his home state

Innit funny how some of the 'free market' boosters work so hard to subvert it? Nother tidbit: read a letter [to the editor] today by a guy who says his local Chamber of Commerce [the voice of business] asked their members at a meeting to refrain from hiring "for the cause" because they don't...

Every Expediter Needs To Experience This..

My first thought on seeing the photo above was that the view would scare me, lol, but then I remembered a sweeeet delivery to a base in Port Hueneme, Ca, where I stopped right at the edge of the bay to check out the sea lions. [My dog barked at them and they barked back - it was hilarious. But...

I thought so too - but probly for a different reason, lol. :p

Romney held in disdain in his home state

Call me hopelessly old fashioned, but I always thought business makes a profit by providing a product or service that customers will pay for, and the way to reap greater profit is to make the quality of the product or service higher than the competition. Now it seems [among many, esp the...

    This can't be right

A headline that repeats the allegations of a lawsuit as fact is the most irresponsible and sensationalistic type of 'journalism', and the people who accept it at face value are equally irresponsible. Most outlets simply repeat the original story, but one later version adds a few details: that...

    Where Is The Outrage?

That proves it, huh? I'm torn between hoping you never serve on a jury, [you don't know what constitutes actual proof] and hoping you do so you can learn.
