    Cargo Van New GM entry

And maybe you were. Just as a longer version drove by. Or as a short version drove by and you thought it was a long version. Or you were looking at beef stew, dreaming of the ultimate van.

    Is it worth it?

People may come back and speak of good months or good quarters. Who cares ? When I look at numbers it's usually a rolling 12 month average. I have bills/ expenses all 12 months of the year.

    Is it worth it?

Simply, $1.25 X .40=50 cents per paid mile. For high end stuff maybe 75 cents per loaded mile. How many miles did straight truck drivers do last year ? All PAID miles divided by 52 ? Few will say 3000 paid miles per week.

    What part is this

Everything looks pornographic to you. If you look at it long enough.

    Is it worth it?

Reading around today, the Load One forum and FedEx Flat Rate threads makes me wonder why people say $1500 a week is so doable in a straight anymore. Also, if a guy is out 3 and home one, as is/was somewhat typical, that works out to $4500 each 4 weeks. What good is it if you can't afford to go...

    Where Are Rates Really?

Phil, you guys were at the right place at the right time. There was money many years prior but you came in when technology made trucking so easy a caveman could do it. And comfort began reaching new levels. About the time you left Green had begun it's P T Barnum style of management. Just by...

    Where Are Rates Really?

Really ? I'd be leery of putting a D out at $1.25 all miles. To be excited about less confuses my simple mind. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

    Where Are Rates Really?

At flat rate, all that would matter is miles. $1.25 deadhead also one would presume.

    Where Are Rates Really?

Dave, with all your experiance, what's your take ? Normal cycle ? Election year ? Over capacity ? At what point do the realists say the sky is really falling ?

The New FedEx CC Load Board

You don't want to see the notes dispatch has. They may say save for an A list truck. If you want to haul D freight you should spend the money to get a D unit !!!!!!!

Looking for work - felony, completed parole over 16 years ago

If you go to the home page, tap on each Carrier, you'll get info on each carrier. One item is will they hire with a felony. I checked two. Got one yes and one no. Oddly, the Carrier that will hire with a felony is probably the better of the two. It may have to deal with their customer base...

    1 Million points question :)

I don't blame you. From the OP I thought they had just announced some new upcoming fees.

Maybe greedy. If they tell you, and you agree to stay, how can you call them a thief ?

Cargo Van Proposal to Carrier group.

There was a lawsuit reported on today in Landline that is over a Carrier filtering money through entities it owns to decrease revenue paid to it's O/O's. ( Go 2, based in Az.) This made me think the problem is our percentages need to be based off total cost to the shipper. Logs ? It'd be cool...

    POLL Demographics

I'm old enough to know better but still too young to care. All jokes aside, I think I'm about as old as the OP but how are we to know ?

I can tell you why rates are so low. Its not fuel.

Dave's right. It's easier to tolerate if you understand what's happening. Carrier X will book the load through Carrier X logistics. Carrier X logistics sells it to Carrier X Transportation for 80 cents on the dollar. Carrier X Transportation gives it to their O/O for 65% or whatever. So...

I can tell you why rates are so low. Its not fuel.

May Day May Day A good day for everyone to turn down any loads under a buck. Enticed by doubling up ? Take $2. Make the agents get back to the customer with I can't move it that cheap. Easier to get it going with OVM at home.
