Don't have to say allegedly - they hoist themselves on their own petards, [whatever the heck that is, lol] and it's all on tape. Paul's logic was that a driver represents profit to the carrier, and mine is that they can also represent a loss. If recruiters get credit for one, shouldn't they be held responsible for the other? Just askin....I don't know what's involved, really, it just seems the reasonable way to look at it.

Ok, but what about the drivers who cost the carrier? Violations, hazmat spills, late deliveries, abandoned trucks, quit after 2 weeks, etc - lots of ways for a driver to negatively impact the carrier. too. Does that get subtracted from the recruiter's stats? :rolleyes:

Thanks, Monty. As I thought, the request was denied for technical reasons, and the judge didn't say anything [in this article] about it being "nice to see people working things out without using the courts". Aside from the fact that it'd put the judge out of work, it hasn't been "worked out"...

How much skill does it take to 'sell' people on something they already indicated they want, just by talking to the salesperson? And sure, pretty much anyone can learn to drive a truck, but that's just part of the job. If they can't manage the bookkeeping and accounting needed to stay compliant...

You may be right about the employee's punishment, but there's no excuse for the people involved in this theft. I'm still just halfway through reading the affadavit, and the attitude of entitlement is just breathtaking. These guys sound like they begin each motivational meeting by genuflecting to...

I am so sorry for your loss, Dave. It's something no one should have to bear, ever. We don't think we can keep breathing even, after a blow like that - and yet, we have no choice. I only hope the thoughts and prayers and caring will help hold your family up, until you feel stronger. :(

I very much prefer honesty, even if there's an occasional swear word involved, to those who cover extremely ugly things with 'acceptable' words. And I like Doug, too. He makes mistakes, but never pretends he doesn't, which puts him far above many others I know.
