Not disagreeing with you. Yes, they made their beds to a point. Detroit just has nothing to offer, and hasn't for a long time. No wonder they're being left in the dust. I can't help but feel sorry for them, and others who have lost hope. The depression begets depression, and vice versa.

Boston-Edison was relatively kept up just 3 years ago. I could imagine what it was like way back when. Now it's just a wasteland of boarded up houses that have had their plumbing stripped. Garbage all over the place. People with no hope, walking around like zombies.

I can tell you one thing about Detroit... it has fallen apart in less than 3 years. Wife and I have looked at houses, and used google street view to check out the neighborhoods. When we got there, the place was deteriorated much more than street view showed.
