Trying to "start an argument"? Or trying to correct a misperception? I remember following a link posted for another subject to a conservative site, where I read about the controversy of Common Core, and I was amazed at the idea that teaching kids how to think was a problem for so many people.

Speaking strictly for myself [and I haven't any degrees], this has been the best controversy I've read here in a long time. Both sides are intelligent, educated, passionate, and best of all, not a word about Obama! Well done, guys. PS Now I'm going to ice my swollen eyeballs. :p

As much as I love particular songs, [like Flogging Molly's "The Worst Day Since Yesterday"], there's not many CDs I can listen to straight through, and I have a low tolerance for repetition - but Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" is an exception.

Me too, lol. But when I met the Chef in person, [at the Expo], I was in a very good mood [alcohol might have been involved in that] so I didn't argue with anybody at all, about anything. :o While I was never a fan of his, the Chef did offer a lot of help to people here, and that's what EO is...

I can, and sometimes do, but the Parkers are the t/t drivers, and they usually don't load more than once a day. Or that was my experience when I drove t/t, anyhow. Or maybe they could [break while loading] if they wanted to, but they prefer taking 30 minutes off instead - who knows?

Not true: the one who most enjoys the argument usually gets the last word. Even if they only have a measly 9063 posts. Make that 9064, and pass the popcorn - you two are entertaining as all get out, lol. ;)

Of course it's the driver's fault [parking in the fuel lanes], it always has been. But if you ever drove t/t, you'd know that one can easily waste more than 30 minutes looking for a spot, then getting backed into it. Now, the self centered drivers who always used the fuel lanes rather than waste...

Uh ohhhh.....And I just turned down an offer to get the AC fixed [long story]. If it's that hot, don't look for my EO bumpersticker at the truckstop, I'll be splurging on some indoor plumbing & cable tv! And air conditioning. ;)

Very few fleet owners would instruct drivers to accept every offer - in fact, I don't know of a single one who would do that. Leaving aside the question of employee vs contractor, it's not a productive strategy for maximizing revenue, or for keeping drivers, either.

I think I would really enjoy that, it sounds like my idea of fun, [just nuts!], but am loaded for delivery in SC. PS "Black Liver Falls" is my new favorite typo, lol. :D

That was a very interesting debate, lol. Without taking sides, I'd just like to say that one doesn't need to carry heat or ice packs, as both can be quickly made from things we generally have on hand or can get [free!] at any truck stop. Ice pack: put a large cup of ice chips in a plastic bag...
