Is It Really True That Truckers Can't Agree? Let's Try.

If the [union] TL/LTL interests don't care too much about detention, they should care about driver training, which we can support. If anyone knows about horsetrading to get the desired result, it's the unions, lol. ;)

Again, you're barking up the wrong tree, muttly. The fantasy was about both Bachmanns and their insistence that homosexuality is a choice that can be unmade, not about how attractive [and therefore worth paying attention to] Michelle is. Again: where are the unattractive [but brainy]...

Is It Really True That Truckers Can't Agree? Let's Try.

That's pretty much how expediters feel in the discussions of the various rules by FMCSA, because they're all about 'big' trucking: TL & LTL, where the schedules and demands are quite different. It's a large part of why it's so hard to get truckers to agree on even the issues, much less the...

    Trucker strike

Thanks, PP. That's the point I was trying to make, before the convo got sidetracked with an off topic [and truly loony] comment: the organizers and spokespersons for the "trucker's Ride for the Constitution" are tinfoil hat wearing crazies. With 'friends' like that, we're just giving people who...

Somebody Put A Gun To My Head..........

Ok, that was atrocious - I swear, my eyes and ears are both bleeding. The thread title, though? Totally worth it! :p

Ohio Man Still Legally Dead Despite Reappearing

I don't see how, if the family [beneficiaries] were deceived as well. What I wonder is: does he get exempted from the Obamacare mandate? Cause it could become a popular strategy, lol.

Is It Really True That Truckers Can't Agree? Let's Try.

Ouch. [They surely did, though.] Reading about the histories of the 'spokespersons' just appalled me, because they're not helping us with their history. Maybe a catchy acronym? TAMPA: Truckers Against Moronic Protesting A**holes  Ok, back to the drawing board.

Is It Really True That Truckers Can't Agree? Let's Try.

Some very good thinking here, except for one thing: FMCSA and DOT promote every hare brained plan as a promise to improve safety, so the meaning of the word is suspect, IMO. I'd call it Truckers for Sanity, instead - because we surely need some. ;)

I don't think the Rocket did your argument any good, lol, much less prove it, lol.

Another irrelevent example: first, because Laura Ingraham is a fellow public personality, while Sandra Fluke was a private person testifying to Congress, not someone putting herself and her opinions on the airwaves. Public personalities know that ratings are the name of the game, and they're...

Slushbusters? Where can I get them?

That bugged me too, so I always ordered several pairs, to make the shipping cost seem more reasonable. I mean, they only weigh ounces, fercryinoutloud!

    Trucker strike

Ok, I'm in my room. Because I like it here, not because I don't know the difference between Conservative and Liberal in a historical sense - because, as it happens, I do know. So please elucidate on what the evolving meaning of words from long ago to now ['gay' being the best known example] has...

Is It Really True That Truckers Can't Agree? Let's Try.

Training new drivers is an excellent demand, and it resonates with the public and legislators, too. CARB is easy: refuse to go to California. Either the standards will change, or states/organizations will develop programs to assist with the costs of the needed equipment [as they did when anti...

I'm sorry you're apparently off your meds and typing utter gibberish again - unless the reference to education is meant to explain your incoherence. Whatever. Nice job of derailing the thread, though.

    Trucker strike

The only historical facts that are pertinent to the discussion of a truckers' strike are NOT related to Obama, or education, or conservative/liberal ideology - period. Sorry you can't see that, but not surprised, as you manage to make almost every subject about Obama and the government's...

Standards change - whether they're being lowered or not is subjective. Adjectives such as 'foul', 'disgusting', etc, etc, etc, are opinion, not fact. The 'millenials' seem to treat cursing as casually as piercings & tattoos, is what I said, and like the hippies long hair, I bet we'll get used to...

    Trucker strike

This comment explains a lot about why truckers never manage to organize a protest: can't even have a serious discussion on the subject without someone insisting on including their political viewpoint. Just like they are doing in DC, and look where it's getting them.

    Trucker strike

I read one comment [following an article on the poor turnout] that said the union told us not to go, lol. But seriously: are you aware that the organizer Zeeda whatshername is a conservative who believes Obama is a Muslim, and has included a request for his resignation in the 'trucker's list of...

    Changes at FedEx Custom Critical

The whole concept of a time clock for truck drivers is very stupid, because the majority of our time is controlled by factors over which we have zero control.

Profanity isn't funny, in & of itself. If people laugh, it's because the comment was funny. To them, anyway. I realize some people don't seem to 'get' it, and some wouldn't recognize wit if it walked up and introduced itself, but most of us enjoy humor, even if there's a bit of profanity mixed...
