[QUOTE=moose;655363 C-U-There! Oh no - making delivery this am in Hopkinsville was as much iceroad trucking as I'm up for this week, lol. As bad as the roads are, the truckstop and customers' dock areas are even worse: they salt the area in front of the entry door, but that still leaves acres...

FAA to "check" overweight pilots for restful sleep..

"Rather extensive training"? I guess that's relative: I found a dozen offers for online and/or video training of 8 hrs, for which the Doctor is credited with 8 hours of Continuing Medical Education. It may be different now, but when I was nursing, nurses were required to obtain 24 hours of CME...

    It's a Merry Christmas Month

How to make your tootsies happy in subzero temps: buy a couple packs of "Hot Hands" [little flat packs that warm when activated] and put them in your boots. Cheap and easy and lovely: warm toes. :) Me, I just wanna go to Fla, lol.

    Boycott the NFL

Yet again, you have simply ignored every question and point that refutes what you wrote, to focus on one thing, usually irrelevant, that you misunderstood to begin with. My point was that Edward Deming created a system [not JIT!] that the Big 3 snickered at, so he took it to Japan. They didn't...

Jailed for a 5 cent theft

Am I the only one who has actually asked permission to plug in my laptop in a truck stop restaurant? [The outlet wasn't exactly at the booth, lol]. This guy is just like those who plug something into an exterior outlet at any business: the outlet is there for the use of the business itself, not...

Sure, they can get you in for an overhead: theirs. ;) I let dispatch know earlier that I wouldn't mind going to Ky or Tn - right before I saw the weather report.....if I end up in Tn tomorrow, I'll holler at you, a Fri night dinner sounds nice.

    Ohioans are Rude Potty Mouths

The old reliables work just fine, lol. On the flip side, there's Audible: one of the best companies I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They're so good that I'm putting their bumpersticker on the back of my truck. Even though it says "Back off! I'm reading!" and I just know that neither...

    Ohioans are Rude Potty Mouths

I think my calls to Verizon customer service might be responsible for at least some of those numbers - I never once said please or thank you to them, either. :o

Jailed for a 5 cent theft

Wow: Mr Entitled missed the chance to demonstrate moral behavior to the kid along with his tennis lesson, [if you can't get permission, it's not ok to act as if you did] then the LEOs go so far overboard that respecting them is tough. I'm just wondering why the overreaction by the cops - seems...

Just wanting to get some info

If you'll read the Newbies FAQ, I'm pretty sure it covers your first two questions [neither of which has changed lately], and even explains why the third one doesn't really matter too much. Expedite is very different from OTR and 'local' driving, and mostly, you get out what you put into it...

    Boycott the NFL

Again: WTH does that have to do with anything?! Are you implying that my comment about the culture of politeness indicates a desire to live under the same cultural restrictions as the Japanese? When you 'connect the dots', I gotta wonder how you come up with a snail from an outline of a camel....

    Boycott the NFL

Deming took his ideas to Japan because the Big 3 [fatuous arrogant morons] told him to, "Made in Japan" being then synonymous with cheap throwaway junk. They said Japan needed help improving quality, not us - they really believed they'd always have a captive market for whatever they built...

Paul Walker, of Fast and Furious ... reportedly died in crash today.

He probably wasn't racing, per se, but he was traveling at one heluva high rate of speed - and you can see the [downed] speed limit sign in the crash photo: 45. Several pro race drivers were quoted as saying the Porsche was a difficult car to drive, [not a regular model], and cars like that...

Paul Walker, of Fast and Furious ... reportedly died in crash today.

Much as I liked the movies, I'm finding it hard to feel very much sympathy for Walker or the driver. Street racing is cool to watch on the screen, but in real life, it's not acceptable. These two endangered a lot of people for their own thrills, and why is nobody mentioning that? There's more...

What Is Your Favorite Christmas Tune?

This is a song I didn't love until I found this version, 8 or 9 years ago, and now I have to find it again every year. White Christmas originally by Bing Crosby. - YouTube It never gets old. :)

What Is Your Favorite Christmas Tune?

You're close, lol: Feliz Navidad. Which reminds me of another classic: Merry Christmas [from the family] by Robert Earl Keen. Makes me laugh every time I hear it. :o
