You might be an extremely radical Muslim if:

    1. You refine heroin for a living, but you have a moral objection to liquor. 2. You own a $3,000 machine gun and $5,000 rocket launcher, but you can't afford shoes. 3. You have more wives than teeth. 4. You wipe your butt with your bare hand, but consider bacon unclean." 5. You think...

    truck financing

I bought our truck from Ellenbaum. I sent them a deposit, flew up there from Florida, they picked me up at the airport and the truck was exactly as described. Overall it was an outstanding experience and the people there were great. I highly recommend them. I did not finance so I can't answer...

Great News for Third Party Advocates

Hey Phil, it's happening in Florida too. Governor Charlie Crist (elected as a Republican) is running for the US Senate as an Independent. "Charlie Crist continues to hold about a seven point edge over Republican Marco Rubio. According to the poll, his lead is relatively the same regardless of...

CV and a tear drop camper

Actually we own and drive a D unit. I just never had a chance to look at these cool little campers before and thought they would make a nice way for a CV driver to have a place to sleep when they have a load in the van or at a campground.

CV and a tear drop camper

Last night at the local Walmart I saw a Ford E350 CV pulling a Little Guy tear drop camper. It was not being used for expediting but it got me to thinking. Would any carriers let someone pull one of these around with them? They only weigh about 1000 pounds and have 85 pounds of tongue weight...

MBE 4000 oil leak while idling

Yep. That's it. By raising the idle speed up a little it stops doing that. Also don't have the problem in the summer when idling for A/C.

Do you have a truck stop addiction

Truck stops are great. You wake up in the morning and on your way to get breakfast you can enjoy the beautiful sound of trucks idling and smell the wonderful aroma of urine. Then during the day you can watch the 53 foot demolition derby or be entertained by wheel polishers and panhandlers...

Hit and Run and CIS Insurance update

No, the other driver was never found. There was no credible witness and the Flying J did not have security cameras. The only one who saw it said the guy pulled forward after realizing that he had hit us, looked in his mirrors and hauled a** out of the parking lot. We had a vehicle description...

Hit and Run and CIS Insurance update

I wanted to update these two threads to let everyone know that with the help of John and Shelly at CIS all of the repairs to our truck have been completed. We were paid $2100 for 12 days of downtime coverage with no waiting period. Randy, our insurance adjuster from Progressive was great to work...

    Shirts and ties

When I worked in a grocery store we had an ugly tie contest each week. The cashiers (all female) voted, and the store manager awarded a prize. Ever do any turkey bowling or learn how to cook a steak on the meat wrapper?

How much does a sleeper cost?

I expected to hear somewhere from 35-60k and up. But I don't understand how that cost can be justified. Why should a 8 foot sleeper cost as much or more than a new 35 foot fifth wheel RV? Is there some type of special manufacturing process or DOT requirements to justify the cost?

    Shirts and ties

Generally, the only times a White Glove driver must be wearing the company apparel is at pick up and delivery. (There may be a few exceptions) Since there are so many choices in apparel and the prices are reasonable a lot of the FedEx CC drivers chose to wear the apparel most of the time.

    New truck trends?

I have to agree with Greg. EOBR's are our new big brother. The only thing I have seen in the new trucks is higher price, less performance and the need to buy blue def to keep the emission levels where the government requires them to be. I think the sales of rolling chassis will increase. Buy a...

    Shirts and ties

Not to ruin the fun but FedEx does have a long sleeve dress shirt that looks nice with a tie. Item number FC1146 it costs $13.57. I personally will not where a tie unless it's a wedding or a funeral.

How much does a sleeper cost?

If you were going to have a brand new 96-100 inch sleeper with double bunks put on a cab and chassis truck how much would it cost? A ball park fiqure is OK. Thanks

    Help With Plywood Floor

Wouldn't it be better to mount the e track on the sidewalls? I would do 2, one above the wheel wells and another 3 feet high. Then you would have a smooth floor to slide the skids across and the splinters and broken pieces on the bottom of the skids wouldn't get hung up in the e track. A friend...

better resting place in Dallas area

We go out to the Petro on I20 in Weatherford. Just west of Fort Worth. No lot lizards, panhandlers, wheel polishers or crack heads. Food there is pretty good most of the time.

Imam Rauf: Moving Mosque Location Threatens Our National Security

If I remember correctly the terrorist started this by attacking the United States. So my question would be, why do I care if anything upsets or incites them? Maybe this will force the cowards to come out of their caves or from under the rock where they hide and plot against us. I'll bet if...
