Now that we can work with! I'm not sure, but to get above 300hp, you may have to go with a class8. The class 8's will cost a little more, but hold up better with the miles and hold their resale better also. If you look for a 2000-2003 model, you should be able to pick one up for $12k-$15k...

A little more info would help. Do you know how much weight you generally carry in the truck? Even the Class 8 trucks will legally carry 8-10,000 lbs as a single axle. I doubt you have any more weight than that. I would look for an older truck for what your doing. Pre '04, before emissions...

My straight truck was leased to C&M. They hold back 3 weeks. I don't know why...never really cared to know. That's the way they want it so I'm fine with that. BUT... they NEVER, EVER failed to pay me when they were supposed to. That's the difference.

That's not exactly true in my opinion. In fact, from the article I read about the accident, the first people who pulled over could very well be the cause of the pile ups to start. I'm not saying that they had a choice, I don't know how bad it was...I wasn't there. But once you pull over or stop...

The price wouldn't be my concern as Rlent stated, they would easily pay for themselves in fuel savings even over a generator. The extra weight in the van would be my problem with them. With me in it...my van has weight issues already :D
