    Where's the Panther freight?

460-200=260 260/7= 37.14 mph Those numbers don't make sense somewhere. No time issue reason to transfer a load like that and I would have a serious problem with it unless they had an actual, defendable reason. BTW, Just noticed your from West Plains. I'm just south of ya in Cherokee Village...

    4 skid loads

Hey, that might explain this problem I've been havin..... :D Good info as always. What I'm worrying over is a moot point anyway. Asking about it was useless. I'm sitting here thinking about how I've got it laid out and if I did just go for the 12', the 14' capability would still be right...

    4 skid loads

My "area" is going to be adjustable. Current configuration, I'll have: 8' cargo + 6' sleeper OR: 10' Cargo + 4' sleeper OR: 12' Cargo + 2' sleeper OR: 14' Cargo, no sleeper.

    Manufactured Oil price spike

While I'm on the doom and gloomer subject. Somebody explain this to me. It's not been very long ago that one of the biggest things you heard about China was how they were intentionally de-valuing their money so that we could not compete with them. Well, now that the doom and gloomer's are...

    Manufactured Oil price spike

Honestly, I don't know...and I don't care. If the combined cost of producing and importing their product is greater than the cost of producing the product domesticly (regardless of why or how that occurs), the products will be manufactured here. My point is that everything doesn't always have...

    4 skid loads

Ok, I'm going to finish out the CargoMax bulkhead this weekend. The way I have it setup now, I'll be able to have 12' 6" for freight when I need 3 skids. I could also set this up in such a way that I would have app. 165" of space when needed. With that, I could carry 4 - 40" x 48" standard skids...

    Manufactured Oil price spike

So what happens if the price of imported goods rises and the cost of shipping Chinese made junk to the US rises? Does that mean at some point, it will be cheaper to manufacture products here than over there? I sure hope so.

Finish this sentence...The coolest thing I have ever hauled is...

I think it was last year during the NCAA finals. I picked up a load of t-shirts in KS just after KS had gotten beat. I was at a freight forwarder's dock. I mentioned that it was kinda cruel, not only did they get beat, but now they have to give up their shirts. He laughed and says "you don't...

Finish this sentence...The coolest thing I have ever hauled is...

Kinda spooky and cool. I picked in St Louis and then a 2nd pick in Baltimore...both were at medical colleges. The Balt. pick wasnt ready so the dean invited me upstairs where the "equipment" was. Well, the equipment was still be used for training purposes on about 30 cadavers. It was the metal...

Ready to Roll,,,,Just need a truck.

In case you havent, I would suggest that use the search function at the top of the page. See if you can pull up any information on your prospective carrier. I know there was a recent discussion of one who I think is based in your area. They were not paying well at all. Just be sure to double...

What is the most famous Expedite trucks.

I would vote for a group of trucks actually. The Bentz (now Bolt) SST conversions have been one of the most sought after expedite trucks for several years now.

Sounds like his truck deal went bad. Something went bad. Move on. It could be a blessing in disguise.

I guess I was a little harsh. I thought that I had stated it clearly, but apparently not. Surely my response was clear this time? :)

    the LNG trucks are coming

How is LNG "super-chilled" and what has to happen to maintain the liquid state? On another note: I mentioned this thread to my brother who owns some property in the Fayetteville Shale region of AR. He says NG prices are about 1/4 of what they were just a couple of years ago. He did say that...

    Where's the Panther freight?

I just cant help it. This is FEBRUARY. Every freakin year, we have slow periods. MOST of the time, the first quarter is one of those slow periods. You probably need to get used to it if your gonna be in this business. Plan on it, be prepared for it....count on it. There WILL be slow periods...

    T & K Nationwide Trucking

I agree that they will fail. I don't think lack of drivers will be the reason though. Sooner or later, the money will dry up. The bad part is that the drivers will have a hard time getting their money. We had a discussion not long ago about a carrier that wasn't paying it's contractors very...

    Shore Power

No...we are NOT happy to hear that there is an extra cost associated with the price. Again...what we want is the basic service. ELECTRICITY. I would love to see OPTIONAL services, but I don't want them to be included in the basic price. I want the basic service as cheap as you can get it to me...

    What is your position?

It is absolutley not a problem if your carrier uses practical miles. I have been leased to a carrier who intentionally used short miles. It was pretty bad.
