Why do people post thread after thread blaming the American people?

I'm not going to try to argue statistics or numbers, but I would argue the facts of who did what to subdue risky subprime mortgages, and to increase low income home ownership. Barney Frank said he tried the first, only to be blocked by Republicans, and that it was Bush who started the movement...

    The Global Warming Hoax.

After almost 30,000 fullblown rants [by a different poster] with nary a mention of Midol, the agenda is pretty clear, IMO. As is the passive aggressive tactic of insisting it was just one woman you demeaned, not all of them. BTW: Midol never did anything for me, but if it can cure mindless...

    The Global Warming Hoax.

So, a guy writes a rant in response to the numerous rants of another guy, and you respond by demeaning women? Not cool. [Or smart, either.] Not cool at all.

    For the ladies

Karen Carpenter's "We've Only Just Begun" was THE most chosen songs for the first couple's dance at weddings for a very long time. The story of her anorexia combined with the myth of Mama Cass Elliot's [a powerful singer with a beautiful voice] death [she died of a heart attack, but the story...

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

Regulating vans would be a nightmare, as there are so many used in various industries that also involve driving as part of the job. Unless vans become a significant blip in the safety statistics, DOT won't want to open that can of worms. If expedite carriers want to eliminate solo drivers, the...

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

I think that's wishful thinking. In expedite, solo straights will always be needed, because teams don't want the shorter runs that customers need covered. Can't blame them - why tie yourself up and miss a much longer load? Customers need the capacity for larger/heavier freight, but straights...

    DOT Physicals

Unless they've gone 'corporate' in the last 10-15 years, I always found nurse practitioners to be more holistically oriented than doctors. They have almost as much training, but tend to consider the interactions that make up the whole: diet, exercise, stress, work/play balance, etc. What they...

    Another Obama Smackdown from SCOTUS

It doesn't matter, because if one religion's beliefs are supported, they all must be - and that's a recipe for disaster. Exactly what the Founding Fathers hoped to prevent.

    Another Obama Smackdown from SCOTUS

Yes. Like believing that HL's investments in China "could lower abortions for employees there", because they think abortion is optional, rather than forced by the government. So what happens when religious beliefs clash? Whose religious beliefs will prevail? Are you going to cheer when the...

    Another Obama Smackdown from SCOTUS

Are you truly so blind you can't see how this 'victory' can come back to bite you? [And the rest of us!] You [I mean Christians, not just you personally] are rejoicing, because your religious beliefs have been made more powerful - but how will you feel when the religion in question isn't yours?

    Another Obama Smackdown from SCOTUS

When you pointed out that a mutual fund is freely engaged in, you made my point. They don't have to invest in mutual funds, there are alternatives, including not investing, if they can't find anything that doesn't offend their beliefs. That they're willing to ignore what their investments pay...

This is a sad commentary on the state of our nation.

Xiggi: if you don't have $12 to spend on dinner for 2, it's far cheaper to eat crap. Hot dogs, bologna, macaroni & cheese, ramen noodles: cheap and filling, but not nutritious. People on food stamps, or working part time, or low paid jobs, can't afford to spend $12 on one dinner.

This is a sad commentary on the state of our nation.

If a great many boys are being raised in single parent homes, and that single parent is a woman, how come? Why are so many men willing to walk away from their responsibility to parent the child they conceived? Job's too tough for them? Women too hard to 'handle'? Why? And why do you think public...

If their religious beliefs are that important, they'd find a way to invest without violating them. That they don't suggests the importance of their beliefs is dependent upon the situation.

    The Tea Party Strikes Again.

Irony: citing the dictionary definition of nitpicking to rebuke someone who objects to words being used in the exact opposite of their definition in that same dictionary.
