    Lift Gate Lift Axle

Absolutely correct. Every carrier has different uses for there trucks. FedEx, Panther and Landstar do a lot of lift gate. I don't think Load 1 or Allstate Express do many lift gate loads.

    Lift Gate Lift Axle

The additional pay for lift gate would be the same for flat rate or percentage. Flat rate pays extra for all accessorials. But, the lift gate would lower my weight capacity below 10,000 pounds and probably make my truck a C unit.

    Lift Gate Lift Axle

It looks like I will have the money soon to add either a lift gate or a lift axle. Our truck has a 24 foot box, is double framed and has a 450 HP engine. But we only have a 10,500 pound capacity. A lift axle would raise our weight capacity and allow us to haul heavier freight. But, it seems...

    Insurance

When we ran for one fleet owner we did a straight 60/40 of whatever the run paid. He paid for everything including work accident, fuel taxes and tolls. All we paid was fuel. Even though he got 40% of the FSC we thought it was a fair deal and think it worked in our favor.

If you are happy with your carrier stay where you are and be proud to be associated with them. If you are unhappy and cannot resolve the issues then move on. Not all carriers are a good fit for everyone and sometimes it takes trying a few to find the one you really like. I am happy for anyone...

You’re going to tow my truck where?

You can be on duty after the 14 hour clock expires. You just can't drive until you have your 10 hours in the sleeper. In this case I received a call from someone at FedEx that explained what should have happened in this instance. Once dispatch was informed that I could not deliver and that I...

    2012 Cascadia

If I invested $150k in the truck I have now I could rebuild it end to end, stretch the sleeper and put on a new dry box, apu, lift gate and lift axle. It would be a show truck with that kind of money. And I would still have enough cash to take the time off and watch someone do all the work...

    2012 Cascadia

I was told around $180k dry box and around $225k reefer. Lift gate, lift axle and some other stuff optional. For comparison FYDA has a dry box 2012 Cascadia with the factory sleeper for $135k. Moving west

There are regional trucks with FedEx CC that stay in the west and do quite well. A lift gate and reefer are usually required though.

Sure am glad I'm missing the first snow storm of the year. I just came in from washing my truck in shorts and a t shirt. It is getting cold here in North Florida too. Already down to 68 and may drop as low as 45.
