    What is your position?

Yep...that is pretty much the explanation Ive got from anybody whose miles consistently come up short. Those who use practical miles never needed to explain themselves. Their miles were consistently accurate. Sorry, I just dont believe the zip to zip story that they use.

What's the income for cargo vans

I'm thinking the numbers he was quoted are probably before fsc. Probably still don't come out to $1.00 though.

Cherokee borders Hardy, Highland and Ash Flat. Large area actually. 15,000 acres I'm told. The cop (my neighbor) says there is close to 900 miles of paved roads...I haven't measured 'em. Cherokee Village is a retirement community :D I don't really belong here..lol. Gotta watch these old...

4 hours is what I always paid for valve adjustment on my series 60 detroit. The shop I used did usually discount the labor rate $55/hr though. Freightliner...Poplar Bluff, Mo. Not sure they do it for everybody...I used them alot so the gave me a break here and there.

Deep breath before the plunge. Thanks to all who helped.

Great!! You've done your research :D I spent a good 2-3 years on the msg boards (there were other circumstances holding me up) before I jumped in. There were still a few twists and turns before I got lined out. Expect the need to make adjustments along the way. A good carrier will make all the...

    Hello and Here goes

No need to apologize. I didn't mean to sound harsh. Written words can be percieved differently than intended. I figured someone more qualified would have responded by now. I would think that most carriers, especially the small to mid-size carriers would love to share freight with someone...

Not sure what the felony will do to ya. You could call a few of the carriers listed on the EO homepage and find out.

    Sylectus shippers posting !!

Sure thats what they want to do. My point is that even if they do get somebody to run an expedited load cheap, its a matter of time until they put one of those loads on a truck and the driver takes a hot load home for the weekend and delivers it a day late. You, me and everybody else have...

    Sylectus shippers posting !!

Ive got money that says if there are carriers posting true expedite loads on general freight load boards, the practice will be short lived...along with the carrier, if their not very careful. If expedite freight was the same as general freight, there would be no need for the entire expedite...

This is a hoot! Homeless man wants to go home via USHIP.

Gotta give it to him...he's resourceful. I'm not a trusting soul, but if you had a load headed that way...some free help driving. Might be a good, hard working guy just down on his luck.

Finish this sentence...The coolest thing I have ever hauled is...

Kinda cool...kinda funny. I picked up a load of stage equipment to be delivered just outside of L'ville. I didnt really pay much attention to the consignee until our safety manager called. It was a nice weekend load. So Mark, the safety mgr calls on Friday and I answer the phone, he says "is...

    As new as they come

I googled EDS and found that they are Expedited Delivery Service, the expedite division of Rush Trucking. Probably worth a look. You'll definitely want to talk to some people who know them though. After looking at their website, I think I have seen their trucks in the Detroit area, but thats...

I have no knowledge of eds or Rush, but 70% is fair and 100% of fsc is expected. I dont advise you to rush into this. Read, read, read and then read some more here on this site. Learn all you can. Talk to some Rush drivers and if you can some ex-drivers. This industry is not something to jump...
