    Becoming a fleet owner

Sometimes pay isn't the only exclusive driver in a decision. Who the fleet owner is all the way to the type of equipment they run. For example, a team in a 72 inch sleeper isn't likely to last in that unit if they can find one that is a 100 inch and basically the same otherwise. Hometime is...

Bummer. Probably could have got the part and just put it on yourself in order to save the tow.

    Becoming a fleet owner

Much of this argument depends on the vehicle size and how a carrier pays. It also depends on how big or established a fleet owner is. Typically a fleet owner with a few trucks is going to be running at a tighter margin than a larger or more established one. It is true that most are either doing...

    Truck not starting

Sounds like you are in the right place. Disconnect at the battery because that will throw some sparks. Ensure all connections are clean and that should do the trick. Still may need the hammer if cleaned and still nothing. What is pathetic is the TA guy should have identified that issue quickly...

    Truck not starting

Kind of the same thing. Although here, you hit the regulator bolted to the firewall. Don't hit the alternator in this case.

Should we presume you plan to picket at his funeral?

    Truck not starting

If it wasn't changed when the starter was replaced, it is the high voltage relay on the firewall. It will have two battery cables going to it. Some have two wires and some have three. Not a cureall, but to start without towing it, you can get lucky by hitting it with a hammer a couple of times...

Rand Paul selling out social conservatives. No surprise.

The issue of gay marriage will likely be forced on them whether they like it or not. Usually starts small and then federal funds are withheld until they comply. What the majority wants in a given state matters little. Forced legalization already starting in TN. Federal judge orders Tenn. to...

    So Much for Legal Immigration

I would agree. Same thing with some of the military families having to sign up for food stamps. As we keep cutting, they are moving this money over to pay for entitlements. As mentioned, this is when the problem gets complicated as they will run out of military money to cut.

    Gay discrimination

I believe the only ones that say a 20 percent number, are in fact the gays themselves. Any other source has numbers between 2 and 4 percent.

    FMCSA Proposing Mandatory Electronic Recorders

Like anything the government is involved in. Follow the money. Same here as it is for climate change/green companies you name it. I am surprised this wasn't pushed harder earlier but we all knew it was coming. May start a new company making tin QC hats.

Michigan Republicans Pass Law Forcing Women To Buy ‘Rape Insurance’

Numerous places have those kinds of programs. As long as there a vehicle to remedy the wrong, that is all that is needed. And it looks like there are several to pick from.

Michigan Republicans Pass Law Forcing Women To Buy ‘Rape Insurance’

If someone is raped, and the rapist is found guilty, most go on to sue in civil court. Generally a easy case if the criminal has been found guilty.

    So Much for Legal Immigration

And that is the issue that will be facing many in that entitlement category. We are making cuts now to the military and when that source is tapped out, entitlements are the next place they are going. Just the size of it and its rate of growth make it a no brainer. As mentioned, we are at 17...

Michigan Republicans Pass Law Forcing Women To Buy ‘Rape Insurance’

On a positive note, it appears that a policy of not paying for abortions has dividends. Census figures indicate a drop in the under 18 population. Put that with a drop in abortions since most have to be paid out of pocket in Michigan, it would appear to be a positive result. It is amazing the...
