    Cargo Van Next truck, maybe?

The van I have now has a factory separate cooler, but yes, I've been a fan of separate coolers for a long time. For the life of me, I can't figure out how you're supposed to keep your transmission fluid cool by running it through a blistering hot radiator

    Hello August

Hopefully not the J. Got ripped off by a counter person there once, and the showers are tiny. I haven't tried the other 'stop yet (I forget which it is, TA or Petro). I now just go to the J north of town when I'm stuck in B'ham.

    Dkp express and other questions

Can't answer concerning DKP, but as far as the Sprinter is concerned, the Ford Transit and Ram Promaster are good alternatives. That said, look long & hard before you leap into this; the van market is extremely overcrowded.

    Hello August

$129 for a four hour trip

    Cargo Van Next truck, maybe?

All of the SRW cubes are 4.8. If I wanted a 6.0, I'd have to buy the truck new. If I could afford a new truck, I'd get a Transit. So, 4.8 it is. In my favor, I'm a gentle driver. I never have seen the sense in beating the s*it out of something I paid good money for.

    Hello August

Was there once; came from Tulsa, went to St. Mary's PA. Not too shabby, IMHO :)

    Hello August

Not a bad place, the city or the J. I once spent an overnight there (Fri-Sat), then slow rolled to Jackson, GA for the Monday...

    Hello August

I don't know, but thanks for reminding me to look into that  I imagine it would depend on the number of skids and the weight. An SRW cube takes three skids, same as a Sprinter, so I should expect at least a Sprinter rate. TBH I imagine a company willing to pay straight truck rates would...

    Hello August

If you want me to pay the same tolls and other expenses as a straight truck, pay me like one.

    Cargo Van Next truck, maybe?

My Ford van has been very good to me, but it is a flattop. This 12' mini cube is the truck type I have wanted for a long time, but it only grosses at 8600, so I passed on it back in 2012. However, effective with the 2013 model year the GVW goes up to a much more usable 9900'. Since Penske sells...

    Hello August

It's the number of axles. NY does the same thing. The sin of it is that an 8500 lb sprinter pays the same toll as a 33k straight truck. I even got dinged for the high rate when I got on the Ohio Pike with my fan lid up. Fought it and won

    Why'd July to dispatch ??

Maybe, but after a lifetime on the East Coast, you can guess where I'm tired of being...

    Why'd July to dispatch ??

You mentioned being happy to stay East of I25; I'm still thinking I'd like to run as far out as 15. I love me some West :D

    Why'd July to dispatch ??

Sounds familiar. In March my wife and I ended up in Seattle. Dh'ed 700 miles to Lodi, got a run right back to Pasco, WA. Dh'ed to Salt Lake, did two of the same shortie in two days, then got a load to Williston ND. Only then did we go to Fargo...

I would do just that if I could; there's too many vans out here. Your being willing and able to wait is a good thing.

    Why'd July to dispatch ??

That's a killer for a solo! That said, you chose instead to dh what, 1500 mi to Fargo? Probably a wise decision, but idk if my wallet would've had the nerve to do it.

Would you take Higher Rate and less Miles or More Miles and Lower Rate?

No. If you're serious, do serious research. If you want an answer that takes 5 sec to read, it's this: Run, Forrest, Run.

    Why'd July to dispatch ??

I hadda know too :) 2550 or so, depending on how much toll avoidance you do

    The DNC: Wickiwacked

I'd venture to say that the Donald will be shocked at what he hears, while Hillary will say "boring! I knew all this sh*t as Secretary of State"...

I would venture to say that after Lawrence v. Texas, it would be legally impossible to prosecute two men for sharing a sleeper
