    Canada Auto repair showdown looming

Interesting, now that the government technically owns a piece of some of the OEM's I wonder where their loyalties will lie? It's also a pretty bad time to be going to the gov't and be against the car companies, their image of being the big bad rich guys is gone. That said I hope the OEM's have...

Problems with a carrier of fleet owner

Greg, my apologies for dicing up what you said and using it in a different context, but the above quoted is very true. While I think some carriers (and that list is getting smaller) may still make this an easy business to get into, the realities of the business are making it harder than ever for...

    Happy/thankful thread

I am thankful for my wife who has always supported me in my career, even when it meant giving up a good stable salary to do this. I am thankful for my dog, she is a fantastic welcoming committee when I come home. I am thankful that I live in a country that is free. That right next door to it is...

    I'll be the first.....May Locations?

Sitting at the passport office in Kitchener (home). I'm number 142.....but they just called number 12!!!!!! Thank goodness I brought my Blackberry in or I would be bored....and that would feel like a layover and I might curl up on the counter thinking it's my bunk.

    Coke Taste Test

USA Diet Coke is lighter tasting, clean and refreshing. Canadian Diet Coke, syrupy goo, leaves a film in your mouth. I stock the fridge in the US otherwise I drink Water.

The ads support the site and its ability to have enough bandwidth to be quick. When you block the ads, the advertisers go away, and the site suffers. Web Capitalism!!

    He finally did it!!!

Linda if you guys get one with a 2010 emission engine I have no doubt you will get 10 MPG almost right off the bat. Big question I'd have if I was doing the truck is DD15 or DD13. The 13 has all the HP you would ever need and is lighter, but the 15 has the turbo compounding and it helps MPG. I...

Back at home now. The problem is the equipment at the flying J. I phoned in to the "tech" support and here is what they told me. At the time of my call, 3pm, there were currently 12 people on line at the J in Montreal and that was "putting a severe strain" on the equipment. FYI, most J's are...

A serious discussion - safety and CLink

I've never noticed but are the safety messages sent at exactly the same time every week? Kind of like the tornado siren test, if you knew that every Tuesday at exactly noon the beep was the safety message you could ignore it until safe to do so. A beep any other time is a pull over and check...

The "I HATE FEDEX CC" thread grrrrr grrrrr

The Peter Graves guy scares me, he doesn't sound happy. Mexican freight must be serious. Serious things scare Piper, piano music you can skip down the sidewalk to......ahhhh Piper happy again.

The "I HATE FEDEX CC" thread grrrrr grrrrr

Nope, any FX contractor knows the piano music that I speak of. I wrote in asking them to burn it to a CD so I can drive safely down the road listening to it, it's just darn peppy!!

The "I HATE FEDEX CC" thread grrrrr grrrrr

I called in after my post this morning (I was non compliant for not having my FX belt buckle). After entering my number, and then my other number, and then pressing 1,9,6,4,2 listening to some lovely piano music, then talking to someone, more piano music, then pressing 8,2,5,9,1,3,5,5,5,6,and...

FireFox 3. something. No real probs at Pilot, just J's. This reply page took 4 min to completely load. At home it would be less than 1 sec so your end works great. FYI, the add to my immediate right is the last thing to load and seems to take a while.

Hi Folks, Is there any option other than disabling pics and signatures that can make the web site a bit more palatable for the "high" speed internet service found at the major alphabetical truckstops? Is there a BlackBerry version of the site or a low res/low feature version? If there...

    Looking for Drivers input :)

Welcome to the fray cherokee! I drive a B unit for FedEx. Generally I would consider it slow. I have had weeks that suddenly get quite good and then it slows again. I am a Canadian driver however so that means I rely on cross border freight to keep busy, that has a lot to do with it.
