How are they going to seal the box on a Sprinter?

    Just passing through

I've seen some loads to Anchorage lately, so that is kind of what got my curiosity up. I wouldn't mind running one of those in the summer, but I want to make sure I can do that legally if the opportunity comes up.

    Just passing through

Quick question here about a situation that I don't encounter that often. You pick up a load in the US and it's delivering in the US, but the shortest route is to cut through Canada. Does the carrier have to have any special permission from the Canadians or Canadian authority to just pass...

how many still out here today

I'm sitting on my couch playing dispatcher, but I can't find anything for me at the moment. That's because I'm only looking for short stuff so I can stay near home.

Anybody get stuck close to Cincinnati, shoot me a PM. Always room for one more, or two if a team.

    About to take the plung

Someone with a paid off van could save enough for a new one in a few years, provided there is enough freight and he can sock away a good amount of cash.

how many still out here today

.50 a mile is too cheap for any expedite vehicle. As far as I'm concerned, that's an LTL. If a load is that cheap, I'm treating it as an LTL and waiting around for something to put with it. You get what you pay for.

how many still out here today

I got home Friday night and I'm just going to try to find a couple short ones to do between now and Wednesday. I hope I can find some short stuff that I can do and come back home.

    Diesel Stolen While Driver Sleeps

Either they steal the fuel...or bid .40 a mile on an expedite load. I've suffered a bit of misfortune as well. I woke up Friday morning in Chicago and not only was everything covered in snow, but my fuel tank was nearly empty, I had a strange sewn up incision in the vicinity of my kidneys...

    Stop the abuse!

There is widespread abuse going on and it must stop. What is being abused? The apostrophe. This poor little punctuation mark has been abused more than any other, always being put in places it doesn't belong. Stopping the abuse really isn't that hard either. Here are three simple ways you can do...

    your pay speed

Also, isn't UPS handling the trippak now instead of DHL? I wonder if that could account for a hiccup in the service when they changed over.

    Bolt van in Cincinnati

Oh well. If it was an EO member in that van, I was about to offer a free shower. I don't go knocking on strange vans. You never know what you'll find in one of those things, especially in a Bolt van. :)

    Bolt van in Cincinnati

I'm home at the moment and I'm out running errands. I just pulled into the Promenade Shopping Center right down the street from my house and there's a Bolt van in the lot. Anyone on here sitting in that van at the moment? Just curious.

I have enough of my own mistakes to laugh at without having to laugh at someone else's.

    One year ago

It's been one year since I got my authority, and I have learned quite a bit in that year. Some of it won't apply to people who are leased to a carrier, and the rest of it is probably common knowledge to so many people here, but this is what I've learned in the last year. Let me start by saying...

    Authority info

Same here. I used the FMCSA web site where you just answer all the questions and it tells you what you need to do. It wasn't that difficult.

How do I see Panthers' available loads?

I can't tell you how many times I have had the low bid on something there, only to see the load disappear and I don't get the award. Then I'll talk to them and I'm told that one of their contractors accepted the load, so they pulled it off the bid board. It's happened to me half a dozen times...

    Here's your sign

I just delivered in Glasgow, KY. For those who don't know, my last name is DeMaris and the name of my company is DeMaris Transportation, and I have a decent looking sign on the van with my logo and information. When I stopped at the security booth and went in to sign in, the woman looked...

How do I see Panthers' available loads?

Because the loads on that board have been offered to and turned down by their own drivers. That's why they're on the broker board. Their own contractors get first crack at those loads to start with.
