Filling a Chevy to overflow does not fill it after overhauling. You have to turn the wheels several times and get the fluid out to the axles then top it off. It's best to run it around the block come back then top it off. A lot of gearing gets lost when people don't do that.

First of all if you have a cube van then your dragging a 4.10 axle. Wind drag and low gear makes for terrible fuel mileage. The 6.0's best RPM for economy is 1500 rpm. If your running about 65 with a 4.10 your rpms are running above 2300 making for terrible mileage. Along with the extra...

Sounds like you got a bearing hot when your fluid got low. Might have gotten a little hot. Give it a couple thousand miles and see if there is any change in noise or play. If none don't worry about it.
