    What it's like at Panther

I'm having some trouble understanding the comparison of one year to the next. Last July (2007) Diesel was around $3.00 a gallon. This July (2008) Diesel was closer to $5.00 a gallon. One driver may drive a steady 65 mph to another who stays at 60 mph. How do you compare the results at the end of...

Think I have the Expediting business figured out

It may be true I am a "Truck Driver" and a "Businessmen" also, and I'm not complaining I have always been a slow learner and at this point in my Career I'm a better driver then Businessmen.

    Plastic Pipe Bunk

You wouldn't need 1 1/2 or 2" pipe. 3/4 or 1" schedule 40# would be plenty strong. #3 10' pieces, #4 90 degree elbows, #6 T's, #6 90 degree street elbows. Take two of the 10 footers cut them to 6' or what ever length you like, the amount left over cuts to the length for the ends. The six T's are...

I am a Cargo Van O/O for Bolt Express and have never asked them to get me home (as yet) BUT back in early August while in Mechanicsville Pa. One of my dogs who travel with me was injured, I was about 1.100 miles from home, notified Dispatch of the dogs injury & I was heading home. With in a half...

    Who is at Fault?

On Home lending, the person\Company making the original Loan takes their cut right off the top. Fees, Taxes, Appraisals are rolled into the loan. Most never take the time to read the information (Truth in Lending law) they are given prior to the loan as required by Federal Law.That being said...

    When To Stop

A friend back in lower Conn. had a horse get out and be hit by a Mercedes Benz Wagon, Conn. State & local Police refused his request to put down the horse. Instead he had to wait until a Vet could be found on a late Sunday afternoon and arrive at the scene to euthanize the poor animal.

    $0.68 per mile???

If the Truck gets 9 MPG @ $4.03 a gallon it would cost him minus any Tolls he might have $716.00 and change. If he needed the Freight and wanted a better place to sit $383.00 and change is better then $000.00 and change.

    Panther Squuezing fixed fsc??

Mr. Shaker, if a driver changes an agreement with Panther, Panther keeps the O/O Escrow. I know this from personal experience.

    how much is fudged

I always thought to get an Average you totaled the figures/items and then divided by the amount (total) as in ten lines of figures should be divided by ten to get the average.

    Panther Squuezing fixed fsc??

12 MPG average for a Diesel Cargo Van sound like a good deal to the O/O to me. As far as 3-6 months back up ask any Recruiter and he/she will tell you, you will be rolling in money within two weeks, maybe three at tops.

    Panther issues

I fail to understand how some of you have such a problem reading print, it say's QUOTE, "Escrow Funds:appears on settlement as $20.00 Qualcomm satellite reserve and $40.00 truck insurance escrow x 15 weeks = $900.00 total escrow" end of quote TOTAL $900.00 ESCROW what is so difficult to understand?

    Missing.......

there is a COST in doing business, it's called OVERHEAD. Having an O/O sitting for days at a time cost's the O/O not Panther.

    Missing.......

According to various posting on this site Panther has 1,500 Cargo Vans/Sprinters under contract. Each having Panther deduct from there monies due at least $160.00 per week whether they are running or sitting. That's $240,000 a week to Panther. There is no way in the world that Panther pays...

    Summer or Winter?

Spring through Fall. It's eaiser to find shade some where, as long as you lie still it's bearable. Ice tea, cold soda or what ever your pleasure it's eaiser to cool off then it is to get warm. My opinion. Plus it's very difficult to find someone to break pond ice for the mules when I'm out of town.

    Panther issues

I don't have $20.00 per week the figures are from the Panther web site. "Escrow Funds: "Appears on settlement as $20.00 Qualcom satellite reserve and $ 40.00 truck insurance escrow x 15 weeks=$900.00 total escrow" I don't see how this can be misunderstood.

    Panther is cleaning House???

If "Conway" folded up why are there ton's of "Con-Way" Blue and White trucks on the road and also a ton of "CFI" Red and White on the road. There both Conway just spelled different.

    Panther issues

I never said they owed me anything more then what was escrowed. Which clearly states on the Panther web site $60.00 15 weeks = $900.00 total escrow.
